NewAshes 232 Posted April 6, 2013 Stay away from breads? Is it really that horrible for you? Even if you eat wheat or whole grain?
Mastiff_mama 171 Posted April 6, 2013 Breads fill me up too quickly. Toasted is the best way to eat it. If i have something with bread I remove the top bun and tear away a lot if the bottom. I rarely eat it though. Tried and failed
Susmcmur 124 Posted April 6, 2013 I'm almost a year out and rarely eat bread. I'm a Protein first, fruits and veggies kind of girl now, with an occasional margarita. I have had a piece of whole wheat toast with a little Peanut Butter, now and then. I just skip the bread basket when dining out, because it takes up too much room and I honestly don't care about it any more. I like the crunch of croutons on my salad, and I'll enjoy a slice of thin crust pizza once in a while. You'll find that your tastes and priorities change, and you may not be thinking about bread and rolls and Bagels all the time, anymore! 1 sr910 reacted to this
NewAshes 232 Posted April 6, 2013 Well I ask because I eat sandwiches for lunch a lot and Bagels for Breakfast.< /p>
SpaceDust 585 Posted April 6, 2013 Well, there are options. For example, think about doing a lettuce wrap (when you get that far) - use a leaf of romaine and wrap your meat and cheese and add-ons in that.
doreen70 268 Posted April 6, 2013 I'm nearly 4 months out. I haven't had bread since surgery. I have cut out bread, Pasta and rice. I really haven't missed it. Last night I took a bite of pizza, and panicked-so I spit it out. One of the doctors that I work with is teeny tiny-she doesn't eat carbs. She was excited to tell me she tried Ezekiel tortillas and they were great.

wcn1970 239 Posted April 6, 2013 Simply put, bread and Bagels have zero necessary nutritional value. Don't waste your time. They raise glucose levels and store fat.
