I was sleeved on 1/22/13, my starting weight was 241 and I am now 197. I logged my food daily & usually stay under 800. This past week, I've been getting around 950-1,000 calories per day. I was originally told 600-800 calories & 50-60 g of Protein. Do we move up in calories over time or are we always supposed to stay between 600-800.

I was told my calories would move up after one year or when I reach my goal.

I am three months out, my NUT told me back in March to try and stay between 900 to 1100 for six months.. I am been eating between 700 and 800.. so I think 1000 is fine..

Just went to my 3 month checkin/ support meeting with a group of people that were sleeved around the same time. The nut said that anything below 700 or 800 was to low. 800 -1000 were good to stay within. I wonder if that's why I slowed down cause its hard some days to get in all my calories.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
