naroby80 17 Posted May 29, 2013 Hello All! I had my vsg on the 22nd and today is the first day I haven't cried. Lol. I'm down 12lbs since surgery for a total of 22lbs. Finally got under 260. Lawd! Yes, I wish I could chew food but finally it is settling in that I did this for a reason so I must ride the ride. Today, I hit the elliptical and managed to get almost all of my Protein in...next step getting Water in! I hope all you May sleevers are hanging in there and hopefully we will all reach goal healthy and together! 2 itsabouttime2013 and Brenda0928 reacted to this
Pammers Johnson 20 Posted May 29, 2013 My surgery was May 13th. Have been gradually trying out soft foods. Feeling great, and my normal active self. I've noticed tonite some rt side pain when I push a little. No nausea, no fever. Feels muscular, hard to describe. Stings a bit. Wonder if I pulled something when lifting Grandaughter or if it's something more serious. Is this normal for 16 days post op?

I felt pain on my left side specially on my back but a week after the pain was gone and I beleive I either pull a muscle or the pain was because my stomach was healing and contracting. I told my doctor and he told me he did not know why the pain, but did said it was probably a muscle. I wish you the best hang in there thw pain will probably go away in a few days. I was also lifting my daughter all the time.
Marcy75964 20 Posted May 29, 2013 I'm 6 days post-op and I'm having a really hard time getting all my fluids in for the day. I feel like I'm drinking all day but not getting all my doctor recommends. Did anyone else have this issue? I don't want to get dehydrated.

Did anyone else have this issue? I don't want to get dehydrated. I'm six days post op as well and I felt the same way and yesterday I had a cup of Decaf tea with a little skim milk and was able to drink that a lot faster than cold liquids
Denn 66 Posted May 29, 2013 I'm 6 days post-op and I'm having a really hard time getting all my fluids in for the day. I feel like I'm drinking all day but not getting all my doctor recommends. Did anyone else have this issue? I don't want to get dehydrated. I had the same problem- and it delayed me in moving on to puréed. What really helped was over the counter Prilosec. I didn't feel heartburn and really thought it wasn't acid - but it was. Also - regular Water hurts and sits like a rock a times and I'm three weeks out. Crystal light and propel packets have really helped as well. Good luck!!!

Jen35 283 Posted May 29, 2013 I'm 6 days post-op and I'm having a really hard time getting all my fluids in for the day. I feel like I'm drinking all day but not getting all my doctor recommends. Did anyone else have this issue? I don't want to get dehydrated. I am 1 week post op and YES! I get so full so fast it's hard to get it all in. What I found that has helped me today - I take a 2 oz little cup (like one of those disposable ones with a lid) and I measure out 2 oz at a time. Whether its Water or Protein Shake. That gives me a easy way to measure how much I'm getting in and gives me a smaller goal that doesn't seem so hard to do. I can easily drink that in 15 minutes. I have my 1 week appointment today and I have to be able to get my fluids in. I don't want this to keep me from moving on to full liquids - I NEED to progress in the food plan. Next week is soft foods and I don't think I've looked forward to anything so much in my whole life! 2 naroby80 and Brenda0928 reacted to this
