Crixus 3 Posted May 12, 2013 May 14, 2013...time to be determined tomorrow. I hope this surgery will be successful in removing 4 of the 6 ulcers and in addition assist in some weight loss. I am concerned about bleeding as I have had many GI bleeds that have resulted in ICU care. I will endeavor to provide my process here to assist others that are about to have surgery also....Good Luck... 2 Brenda0928 and May142013 reacted to this

tempname123 37 Posted May 12, 2013 @Pammers Johnson, Thank you. I think if I don't hear back from her by email mid-day tomorrow I will print them out and go to the office. The nurse (who I also CC'd on the email) called me and told me that the coordinator has done this before and is under disciplinary action now. They have had a lot of similar complaints apperently. I am just discouraged because I have been working toward this since last October, and I am so ready to take control back of my health. My kids and husband are ready. It will be the first time ever that my husband will see me in a dress (outside of our wedding).
tempname123 37 Posted May 12, 2013 Are there any females that are sleevers whom have also had a hystorecomy? I had a hystorecomy in 2008, and it was very painful, but I still drove myself home (2.5 hours) from the hospital. The LPC who did my psych eval had a hystorectomy and she said the hysto was worse. I have had several surgeries and also a DVT in my left leg during pregnancy. The DVT is hands down the most painful thing I have endured. I am just wondering if you can feel the staples? @ Pammers Johnson, God will be guiding your surgeons hand tomorrow! And, if you are a mother, Happy Mothers Day. Happy Mothers Day to other moms as well. I want everyone to know that I didn't come on here to grump/vent, I have been reading the message boards for a few months watching everyones progress and up until Friday I have been feeling like a Dolphin wanting to do backflips out of excitment. I am just sad that I keep getting delayed (since last fall) through no fault of my own and I have to continue carrying this weight, going to doctors appointments, and being scolded about how all of my health problems are due to my weight. (Sacrolilitus, Plantar Fasciatis, Type II Diabetes, PCOS, hypertension, blood clotte, and hearing the fat jokes. We had plans to start living a normal life once I had surgery by going on vacation to a beach in a swimming suit this summer.

jensjoy28 351 Posted May 13, 2013 Good morning May sleevers! Just a quick update from a May 8th sleever. Doing great, haven't been on pain meds during the day since May 10 and took my last bedtime dose on May 11. Virtually pain free except when adjusting position in bed, didn't have the gas pain in the shoulder, but do still have twinges of it in my lower abdomen. Had first BM yesterday (4 days post op). Had my first attempt at nf milk yesterday when I had a Starbucks latte, and accidentally also had caffeine since i am not accustomed to ordering decaf...went through me pretty Quickly...not sure if it was the lactose or the caffeine, but will try the milk again today. Haven't had any hunger yet, but did have my first glimpse of head hunger yesterday when I found myself wishing I could have a slice of pizza, or enjoy the Mother's Day meal my family was eating. In the past, I would have tied those feelings to physical hunger, but yesterday I was able to tell there was no physical hunger there, so it was in my head...good to be able to make the clear distinction...wasn't overwhelming, but it also wasn't possible for me to give in to it since I am on liquids...hope my resolve holds once I am eating foods again! Weighed myself on May 11 (3 days post op) and was down 10 pounds since right before surgery. Incisions are doing well...starting to itch a bit which is always a good sign of healing, and I don't have any in position that make waistband or bra uncomfortable. WooHoo!! Okay...enough rambling, turned out not to be the quickest of updates. 3 Blessedfun, Tumbelyna and Brenda0928 reacted to this

tempname123 37 Posted May 13, 2013 I finally have a date! The gal took responsibility and resolved the problem! I am going in May 21st. First class for school starts May 20th, but I got my teacher to agree to my absence from May 21st to May 23rd! Husband just scheduled days off. My daughters are excited. Good Morning and THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! times how ever many exclamation marks are there. At first when you told me you were sending the appeal, I didn't remember sending it (likely out of excitement). But then I was looking through my email for something else and saw that email. It shows the attachment on my sent email. I have 3 anti-viral programs that occasionally strip attachments, but I've only ever seen that to other .edu emails. So if that's the case I will get with IT and tell them what's going on. since it shows attached in the send. Either way THANK YOU FROM ALL OF MY HEART (I'm pretending I'm doing back flips like a Dolphin at SeaWorld) I've told my husband so he's good there, and I will communicate with my instructor next. I don't believe this needs to be escalated up at all. :-) Thanks, Lani REACH - Respect, Excellence, Authenticity, Curiosity, Hard Work From: blank [blank@coloradosurgical.com] Sent: Monday, May 13, 2013 9:21 AM To: blank(blank@uccs.edu) Subject: RE: URGENT PLEASE READ ASAP FW: Clearence for surgery I have you on for surgery for the 21st. Go ahead and start the 10 day diet tomorrow. I do apologize for all of the confusion and the appeal. I looked back at the email and it didn’t have an attachment. I was not able to clear this with him before today so I couldn’t verify the 21st surgery date before this morning. On the 20th we are going to combine your H&P with the review appointment so you will need to see Dr. Fedorak here first in the office and then we will send you downstairs for labs. The hospital may call you to register you prior to that day and the call will come from central scheduling. If you have any questions please let me know. I again apologize as I know your time is valuable. blank
