Fiddleman 4,376 Posted April 23, 2013 My food cravings have been alot less these past few days' date=' too. Maybe it's the cycle of the moon!! But I'm also wondering if it could be tied to the fact that I ran out of Vitamin Water (my favorite drink...which happens to have carbs). Whatever the reason, I'm so grateful for relief from the craziness!![/quote'] I bet it is the carbs that triggered the hunger. It happened to me also, but with a different "low carb" food item. Low carb was 2 g refined sugar. Now that I have eliminated this sugar, the hunger has gone down. I still get my daily carbs, but no longer as small amount of refined sugar. 4 No game, carstanger, Butterthebean and 1 other reacted to this
NurseGrace 509 Posted April 23, 2013 I think, that at least for a woman, to get much heavier than about 250 there have GOT to be some addition issues involved. Men are a little different. 2 carstanger and rosehips reacted to this

You know about a year before surgery I read a book about food addiction and cut out all sugars from my diet real and fake. The hardest part was giving up my diet coke but I did it! I lost some weight too, but most importantly I felt great, I stopped getting dizzy spells and the shakes it was a good thing for me. Well in the months leading up to surgery I started with just a little here and there (bread a treat here and there) but since surgery I eat so much crappier in some ways, not bread yet but Protein Bars, lunch meats artificial sugar in my coffee I used to love black coffee by the way now I sweeten it? I still drink my Protein Shakes and they have sweeteners. And my cravings are strong! It's something I need to put some thought into.. 2 rosehips and carstanger reacted to this
Fiddleman 4,376 Posted April 23, 2013 Just like Powerade zero they make vitawater zero. My suspicion is that poster is not drinking vitawater zero, but regular vitawater.
aquitenonnymouse 206 Posted April 23, 2013 I didn't realize until after surgery that I had a food addiction, and I'm dealing with that right now. It's hard! I thought I had 'some emotional eating habits', and that I just enjoyed the taste and sensation of eating... UH. WRONG! I'm addicted! You can't exactly go cold turkey (pardon the phrase) on food, the way people can for other substances. It's tough. I'm weak. I will do better today than I did yesterday... even though I already snuck a piece of chocolate. Okay, fine. 2 pieces. 3 No game, Butterthebean and Molly3 reacted to this

Nope...I'm definitely looking at a vitaminwater ZERO bottle: 4 grams carbs. BTW, a packet of Truvia has 3 g carbs! Can anyone explain how you can have zero calories and four grams of carbs!?! 1 Butterthebean reacted to this

OneWritersSoul 353 Posted April 23, 2013 I freely admit that I'm a food addict! Prior to being sleeved people would frequently remark that they didn't understand how I was so overweight because they didn't ever see me eat hardly anything. Well, duh! This is a two part no-brainer, people! One part is the fact that they all ate a whole lot more than me (not judging, just fact) and the other part was the fact that I was one of those "secret" eaters. As if no one would ever notice the fact that I'd eaten my way to almost 500lbs! Now I struggle with food, period. Keeping it down, weighing it, tracking it, enjoying it- food and I are no longer friends. Until someone suggests a restaurant with a salad bar. Then I mourn it like we had been joined at the hip. Truly, it's the only thing I miss being able to eat. See? I'm an addict. Don't take me to the farmer's market when I'm missing salad, I'll embarrass you by loudly bemoaning my choice to have this surgery and making lewd comments about what veggies make me want to do- toss a salad full of spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, and so many other- OMG! See what happens?! I'm sort of making light of a very real problem. My very real problem, that my therapist sees me for every week. Surgery didn't make one eating order disappear. It just swapped it out for a whole new one and put this food addict into a holding pattern for the time being. 5 No game, Ms skinniness, carstanger and 2 others reacted to this

Can anyone explain how you can have zero calories and four grams of carbs!?![/quote'] They are allowed to report the calories as zero because one serving has less than 5 calories. There is 1g of sugar per serving (4calories) and the other 3g is from erythritol, a sugar alcohol. Erythritol is deemed to have no calories per gram for food labeling purposes. This calorie assumption is based on erythritol's unique absorption and elimination process. Erythritol is rapidly absorbed in the small intestine and eliminated by the body within 24 hours without being metabolized. There are 2.5 servings per bottle, so the true calorie count for a whole bottle of VW zero is 10 cal. It has 2.5g of sugar (fructose), which for some people may cause cravings. The erythritol can stall weight loss because it can cause bloating in some people. FYI: Lifewater 0cal does not have fructose, although it does have the erythritol. It is sweetened with stevia. costco Vitarain 0cal does not have erythritol, but does have 1g of sugar from grape juice concentrate and it is sweetened with Splenda. Propel 0cal does not have erythritol or any kind of sugar. It is sweetened with Splenda. 2 No game and carstanger reacted to this

I do fine drinking plain Water or my personal favorite, Water with lemon and cucumber slices, but I know some prefer more flavor and a little sweetness. Also, sometimes a change of pace is good. 1 carstanger reacted to this
deedadumble 1,033 Posted April 23, 2013 I think it's going to be an individual determination. I've been drinking Lifewater 2-3 times a week without stalling, but I may try switching to Propel for a week to see if there's any difference. I usually drink Water plain or add 1/2 a packet of Crystal Light Mojito to it. I think it's just so important to get the water down, that anything you can add to make it easier add it. 1 carstanger reacted to this

So happy to hear your getting help with this....This is so frustrating for me at times. Just got back from Maui and I gained 7 lbs..... Now today I'm back on track. My adult children came with us and they ate a lot of chips, Cookies, and fudge. I gave myself permission to eat that sh** and now look where I am, yep, back to basics..... Next time we go on vacay, it's just me and my husband.......We can do this..... 2 No game and SpaceDust reacted to this
