BIG FAT PEOPLE!

Recommended Posts

Y'all are so lucky to live somewhere cool! I'm in Houston with flat land covered in buildings! Haha.

I wonder if anyone has gotten to goal eating no bread' date=' rice, or Pasta, then added them back in during maintenance. Did they keep the weight off? I've done no carb diets several times and as soon as I ate them again, I gained weight. For me, I know I can't live the rest of my life without those foods, so I never gave them up after surgery. I eat sandwiches, wraps, and grains. Try to stay away from white carbs but still have them every now and then. I agree with a previous poster, it's all about Portion Control and maintaining a way of eating forever.[/quote']

Go up to Huntsville state park on 45. Great hiking trails and there are these ups and downs that you could almost call "hills". I run there all the time.

I couldn't bring myself to read all the pages on this thread. I find it impossible to believe that anyone would need the sleeve who isn't/wasn't addicted to food. Thyroid is treatable WITHOUT sleeve and anyone not addicted ( odd term for dependent lol) would diet to desired weight.

That's like an hour and a half away from me! I didn't know there was a Huntsville state park, though. I'll have to check it out, thanks!

Hey Laura - You are fine. My philosophy is that if you are busting your butt on a hike then eat fuel that gets you up the mountain ( or along the beach) . I have been known to eat a couple Protein bars' date=' including a cliff bar when hauling up a mountain. Your body needs the carbs to sustain the effort. Do not feel bad about it at all. Now if you make it a habit while you are watching the bachelor to eat a sandwich, then you definitely need 1000 wet noodle lashings. :) do try and low carb it while you are in weight loss, but eventually you will need to work back up to normal healthy FDA pyramid food chart status. And no more self imposed guilt trips OK? Life is too short to be stressed about food.[/quote']

Fiddleman,

It was definitely a hike yesterday! My husband "miscalculated" the miles and elevation change.

:P

We are camping at gold bluff beach (fern canyon) before crescent city ca. But it's in big state park with tons of hiking..

I don't feel to bad about the sandwich and I was to tired to have s'mores again last night :)

I noticed this morning on the forum a lot of threads about "OMG I'm hungry wtf??"

Sounds like a new topic in the coming days..

There seems to be this fallacy that with the sleeve your hunger is magically taken away for good.. (I paid an extra thousand to have mine taken out) huh... Wonder how these things get started??

My name is Laura I am fat. I ate to much food.

I have the sleeve, and I still get hungry

(it's natural)

I never was a big Pasta or rice eater' date=' so those have been relatively easy. I eat whole grain wraps on occasion or wheat bread, but have managed to avoid white breads altogether. I think that it is something that if you did introduce it back into your diet it could easily be a trigger food. Processed carbs do initiate hunger and the want for more carbs so I could see that causing some problems for us. IF I ever get to maintenance, I don't think that I would ever bring those foods back.[/quote']

Ezekiel bread is my favorite! But this was not what I ate this week, it was French bread.

The easy part for me is pasta, I never liked it.

No I'm not to bad! Just when sitting down (I think from the climbing).

I think the thing that hurts the most is my sun burned face

I am definitely an addict and I consider the sleeve my rehab. I just got my approval and I'm so anxious because I'm going to have to face my life without my drug to comfort me. That's when it really hit me that I am sooo addicted. I started counselling several months ago because I knew this was going to be a head issue as much, if not more than a physical thing.

Ezekiel bread is actually a nutty sandwich bread that contains absolutely no flour. Ezekiel bread is made from four grains and four Beans. Typically it contains wheat, spelt or rye, barley, millet, lentils, great northern beans, kidney beans, and pinto beans. This unique combination of ingredients is based on the biblical verse of Ezekiel 4:9 which reads: "Take also unto thee wheat and barley and beans and lentils and millet and spelt and put them into one vessel and make bread of it."

The other fallacy is that you will never be able to eat more than 3 ounces in a sitting again, therefore the sleeve will forever prevent you from overeating. It may be true for some, but not for all of us. And by the time you get to that point you better have a "plan B" if your sleeve will hold more than half a mcnugget.

I think that a lot of "newer" people are under the impression that all hunger is taken away I think that's the exception not the rule. At about 1 month out I did not care for food at all some days but it does equal out and increase over time. as does the amount you can eat. You are right on that butter.

But give it a minute..someone will be on here and tell me "but I have no hunger anymore".

And I can't even eat more that a nibble of a nugget without getting stuffed!

I think many people also underestimate the power of their brain too. Sure the hunger hormone is reduced but our brains are stronger than that.

Yeah mine too. I made chicken Marsala for the fam the other day. While I was browning the chicken my brain tried to convince me to take a bite.

I resisted, but it was a battle of willpower and addiction if ever there was.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
