I use Viactive and really like the Caramel flavor. 2 a day.

The chews I found at costco were Calcium carbonate. Viactive is calcium carbonate.. I have not found any other chews or gummies other than bariatric specific chews available online that were calcium citrate. (vitafusion gummies are not calcium citrate)

I am taking citrical petites and puritain's pride minis... they are smaller in size.. I take six per day spread out throughout the day... ALSO, you don't have to do the chews if you don't want to , Bariatric Advantage makes wafers in many flavors that are a lot cheaper and have fewer calories than the chews.

I like Calcet - you can get them online. They come in chocolate (YUMMY!!!) and lemon (haven't tried yet - but heard they're good). I've also tried the caramel ones from Bariatric Advantage, but I like the Calcet ones better. At the moment, though, I'm using Wellesse liquid - it's creamsicle flavored. Got a free sample and a couple of bottles with coupons so I'm going to use those until it runs out.

I or my lab work show no signs or reason to require me to take calcium citrate over the vitafusion I'm currently taking. I don't have an absorption issue so I feel good with what taking ATM. Like said.. Follow docs orders

My NUT is very big on making sure it is calcium citrate. I couldn't tolerate the chalky chewables so she said to get the citracal with D3 gummies. They are pink, purple and orange. I take two twice a day. It's only for a few weeks til I can tolerate the pills again.

At first I was worried about the carbs in them but she assured me that it won't affect anything!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
