How long is the stall?

Recommended Posts

Help!! Almost 7 months out & I can't get these 2 numbers to move for the last month!!! So frustrating. They just keep playing ping-pong with each other. I've added Pilates to the mix & doing everything right..... Still very happy, but I'm so close to getting into lower numbers...

That's a good question....but I don't think there's an anwswer! I'm also in a stall right now, going up and down the same 3 pounds since March 18. It get's aggravating, to say the least! But I figure things are readjusting, and this too, shall pass. It has to, right? Good luck!

Are you getting in enough calories...and enough protein.....enough Water ? ... I see you have added pilates which is great. Are you doing any strength training to build muscle to burn fat? Sometimes are bodies get used to the work out program we have created so we don't get out of it what we were getting so we have to trick our bodies and change our workout program . hopefully some of that will help :D

Besides walking, Pilates is my only form of exercise now. I'm starting Zumba next week for more cardio input. I am getting in all of my Protein & Water. I might be a little low on calorie intake - maybe 850.... I tried kickboxing last night - definitely not for me! Lol I applaud all of you that so it. Again, thanks for your input... I'll be patient & hope that scale starts moving soon!

The scale has stopped quite a few times for me. Upon doing my own research on the web and testing things out. I find I can break a stall a few ways. Since I usually eat fairly low carb, I will eat one day of higher carb. I know this sounds bad, but I just kind of will eat sushi or Cereal throughout the day.

Another thing that works for me is doing a VERY LONG cardio session (non-stop). I have done it low intensity and high intensity and both have worked for me.

The scale will move though. Take some measurements. And good job on exercising. That will keep the scale moving. Do not be discouraged if the scale goes up when you first start working out. When you first get into an exercise regime the scale could possibly go up because of the blood flow throughout your body and the redistribution of Water. I'm no expert, but that is what my trainer said. And I gained about 3 pounds when I first started working out and then it came right off.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
