When I had my monthly follow up, they said the average at a month was 25 pounds and I was exactly at 25 then. It sounds like you are on track to me!

Don't compare yourself to others. Everyone loses at a different pace. I was down on myself for a long time because I would do that but I like where I am now

Well i started out at 264 i'm 208 now,my surgery was on jan 24,I loss 18 pre-op,and i loss the rest after,i had a stall for a bit,so i was told to increase my intake,so i set my timer to remind my self to eat, every two hours,i eat even if i'm not hungry, because i can only eat a fews spoons anyway,so it's working for me now :).

everybody is different. If you are struggling to get in your fluids and/or Protein, then I would look to get that squared away then your weight loss would be more in line with what you are expecting. The body does everything possible to hold on to as much energy (fat) as possible. If you are not fueling it through protein consumption and drinking your Water to stay hydrated, your weightloss is going to go much slower than if you hit the numbers correctly.

It just started happening. I didn't change what I was eating or how I was exercising, although, I have been able to move from the treadmill to the ellitical.

I have a low BMI, 36 at the moment. I was wondering if weight loss is slower, and how much other low BMI'rs have lost their first month!

The first thing you need to understand about this VSG (and any weight loss surgery) process is: "Like a Fingerprint, ALL Weight Loss is Unique to the Individual..." & "Everyone's journey is completely unique, so no one should ever judge that path..." Believe me these two quotes are very, VERY TRUE. I NEEDED these quotes on the negative VSG site I just came from (so many haters there, including the staff that run it!). Anyway, I do not have a thyroid gland and thus do not have a metabolism, so I did not lose weight quickly, even with the VSG, but the other factors that make this process unique to the individual is your gender, age, body chemistry and make-up, etc. Comparing our experience to others VSG is a losing (no pun intended) situation. I try to avoid those posts of short time - huge weight loss, because while I am happy for the poster's success, I have never lost weight quickly or easily and thus it is hard to read how easy this experience is for others. It sounds to me like you are doing just fine!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
