When did surgery scars fade? If ever...

There is a good scar cream called mederma scar cream. You might want to try it.

I don't know if we need to remove evidence of surgery. Maybe it is because I am a guy, but I look at scars as war wounds that each tell a story. Wear them with pride! I have various scars from different repairs in life. I like telling people about where they come from. I am like an old quality piece of furniture with lots of nicks and scratches. Apologies in advance if this metaphor is really bad. Lol.

That's how I feel.. And my kids are the same. They wear all their sports scars with pride and a story to go with every single one! Some are from being stupid and those have the best stories that as a parent you never should have been told.. Holy crap, the things I didn't know

I second that! But I'm aware that it's probably just a guy's perspective. By torn bicep scars are my favorite ones to talk about.... I like watching a person's face when I tell them about how it happened and ripped completely off the bone. Check out the inside of my forearms. One is a little more faded than the other since it was further back (10+ years ago). :D

I'm 19 months out, and I don't see mine although I suppose if I were to look really hard I'd probably find them.

Depends on colour of skin etc but mine are unnoticeable @ 5 months out. I applied cream day and night every day. Just found out I need gallbladder out though - so got to start the whole process all over again!! :(

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
