Today I'm making a vow to all my fellow sleeve friends... I will stop dabbling in the Easter candy. Number on the scale hasn't budged since last week and now I know why. There is a reason jelly bellies are called jelly bellies!!! Please feel free to check in on me throughout the day!

Oh man yea get off that for sure. I don't even look at my sons candy. For me thinking about the wasted money of a major surgery and the fact that part of my body is now missing keeps me away from candy fat and carbs.

Yeah, those little balls of gooey sugar have more calories than I thought!

My son got 4, YES 4 Easter baskets, all with candy in them. I did eat a chocolate covered brownie egg (a little smaller in size than a PB egg). But that was it. He got some rice crispie treats that have been calling me, but I have resisted. Stay strong...candy is one mean slider!

I did it! I passed out an entire bag of jelly Beans out to my students and didn't have a single one AAAND let my own kids at home have a little from their basket after dinner and didn't touch anything. Plus I worked out on treadmill and burned 300 cals tonight! Feels good. Thanks for listening. :-) I felt more determined knowing some of you were out there in the same boat as me.

I have to admit I had some chocolate yesterday. Went to walmarts and there was a basket full of marked down Easter chocolate. My stomach was upset for a couple of hours. Learned my lesson.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
