I had one that did that also. I cleaned it any put steri strips (like a butterfly bandage) on it. It healed just fine after that. Good luck!!

I have seen others post similar problems. First thing you will want to call your surgeon, or their nurse first thing in the am. Second, from what others have posted this is not unusual. At this point you want to make sure that the area stays clean, that there isn't pus, drainage, or an odor coming from the area. You could lightly cover it if it is making you nervous, but more than likely if you aren't showing signs of infection your Surgeon will probably not be too concerned. I have seen others say their surgeons say they can just leave it, they can apply butterfly bandages, or cover it. The thing is, your surgeon closed up the most internal part of that spot, you don't have an open wound to the world, and it isn't open to your abdominal cavity. So no worries (unless you are showing signs of infection) and call your surgeon in the am.

Keep it clean and dry. Let your surgeon know especially if you have redness, pain, swelling or an odor at the wound. I am 2 months out and they are just about healed. Protein is especially important in the healing process. Good luck! ;-)

as others have said. give your doc a call.. but I had a small spot where one of the stitches is. The others all healed over, but that one sticks out just slightly. My doc told me that it happens sometimes and either the body will absorb it, or reject it and it will come out on it's own in time. All the others are pretty much all scared over now, and scabs came off. I'm 2 weeks out.

I should note that I have always healed very quickly.. It just looks like dry skin around the scared area and a couple of smaller scabs in some areas of where the cuts where.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
