Sadtosaygoodbye 256 Posted April 3, 2013 Probably the best person to ask, would be your physician.
Newme48 104 Posted April 3, 2013 Ulcers will probably be a stop sign. I had three ulcers when they did my endoscopy. I was taking a lot of prescription strength ibuprophen and they feel that was a cause. They will probably put you on a PPI to reduce the acid in your stomach and this should help the ulcers heal in time. Unfortunately this also means they will want to do another EGD to see that the ulcers have healed. Follow their instructions! The biopsy might also have been for a bacteria that is common in the stomach and can cause ulcers if unchecked. They usually biopsy every patient that has an EGD. It is that common, but easily treatable. You want healthy stomach tissue especially where the ulcers could be in the way of where they need to staple to do the sleeve. Don't worry ! Just follow your instructions and you should be fine! 1 erics300 reacted to this
MICKEYMANTLE 8 Posted April 3, 2013 it may depend on where in the stomach they are , if they are on a part that gets cut out it may not matter, best take to the surgeon
