may have been asked before... re: pain

Recommended Posts

hello everyone,

i had my surgery on nov 15/06.

sorry if this question has been asked before but it's way too may hreads to go through.....

i've been experiencing this pain/discomfort in my throat and a bit lower in my chest. it's not constant and not necessarily if i've eaten something. i notice it in the morning, later in the day etc...

what is it? i thought it might be gas, but i don't burp with it, and would i still be gassy 2-3 weeks post -op?

Hi, it might be gas, but I am not sure as I have not experienced anything like what you are describing. The best suggestion I can offer is to contact your doctor and tell them what you are experiencing.

I had the same thing that you are describing. I definitely think you should call the Dr. just in case it is not the same.

I was eating bites that were too big, then I would have reflux, it was irritating my esophagus causing pain, discomfort and the feeling of a lump or stuck food. My Dr.'s office recommended taking smaller bites using a baby spoon and fork about the size of my pinky nail. I immediately started doing that and haven't had any problems since, except when I eat too fast or too big bites because I am not concentrating.

Good luck and still call your Dr.

I used to have similar...but it was due to eating too bigger bites...i started eating with a teaspoon...the only time I ever have it now is if i am eating in a hurry or snacking and not concentrating...

It may be acid reflux. I had it and my symptoms were exactly the same. I took some Pepcid AC for a few days and it went away. Remember you are swollen and healing right now too.
