jkfletch82 13 Posted April 3, 2013 Has anyone else had the "joy" of sticking themselves in the belly with these shots? So tired of feeling like a pin cushion! 1 ItsmeTae reacted to this

jkfletch82 13 Posted April 3, 2013 How nice.. I have them for a month. Well, surgery date was March 11th. So I don't have too much more. But I do have to take gardisil (Sp) for 6 months and another pill for three.. that's in top of all the Vitamins. I guess it's a small price to pay but it's still a pain. tdguill 11 Posted April 3, 2013 Has anyone else had the "joy" of sticking themselves in the belly with these shots? So tired of feeling like a pin cushion! I had to give myself Lovenox shots for 2 weeks. Today was the last day.
Decembersleever 154 Posted April 3, 2013 I had to do it for 24 days. Didn't look forward to it
Keepgoing247 116 Posted April 3, 2013 I had to do it a few years back and also during most of my last pregnancy. It gets easier, but it's no fun. The bruises look terrible! It will be worth it!
mark! 449 Posted April 3, 2013 I did it for 2 weeks, with some pretty gnarly bruising. I didn't quite understand, I give myself shots weekly with a 26g needle and never bruised like that either intramuscularly or in the sub q fat. And the sting was pretty fun too. Recycled 2,182 Posted April 3, 2013 It bruises because it's a blood thinner. Better to endure a little pain or bruising than a clot or DVT or stroke or worse. for the men stop whinning and man up and the women.......it's only a little prick.......you should be used to that by now........ Colemon70 87 Posted April 3, 2013 My doc has his patients on it for 3 weeks. My belly looks like a war zone. But hey if it helps prevents clots, I'm all about it!
minimii 43 Posted April 3, 2013 Since January 2013 I was taking lovenox twice a day in the hospital, then four times a day at home. Now I'm taking fondaparinux once a day. Hopefully this will be my last month on it, then I will start wafrin pills for the next 6 months or so. At least I won't have to be shooting up my belly anymore
