No game 14,437 Posted April 3, 2013 I appreciate everyone's positive and negative comments. Dixie, How are you doing? This is a hard physical and mental journey. I think most people here realize that. None of us are perfect...we wouldn't be here if we were! 3 KatInFL, kortolano and Ms.AntiBand reacted to this
Rena's got this 274 Posted April 3, 2013 I can't really speak to this because I haven't been sleeved yet, but if I were, I'd want to be more conservative than the doctor's orders, just to make sure I was healing ok. BREAKING NEWS......deh deh deh deh (news noises)......NEIGHBOR STABBED AND KILLED BY RECENT WLS PATIENT!!!! PATIENT INSISTS IT WAS ON DOCTORS ORDERS......NEIGHBOR FOUND WITH A FORK STUCK IN THEIR CHEST.... LOL You can cut just about anything with a fork if you want to You just have to buy good forks! LOL....that was hilarious!
ambalam 54 Posted April 3, 2013 I love burgers, or at least used too. I was sleeved 12/17/12 and absolutely cannot tolerate beef. I do have bread though and it does cause discomfort. I feel that if you question a food choice, you know it wasn't the best.
Katie713 423 Posted April 3, 2013 Curious...were you given dietary recommendations? Most of us were given a specific timetable for introduction of new foods and solid food (dense Protein & veggies) not allowed until about week 6. Prior to that it is a slow introduction from liquids to pureed food, then soft foods, then slowly toward full solids. Most of us have also been told that for weight loss, stay away from white bread, Buns, sugar, Cookies, cakes, white rice and white potatoes. You hit the double whammy here with firm solids and half a bun very early in the game and that is why you are getting a lot of feedback. It's not to be mean, but certainly there are risks when your stomach is still healing, that suture line takes time to seal up and there is also inflammation from the surgery itself. The chili is a better choice than the cheese burger and bun. Later on you will be able to tolerate the burger but I would say NO to the bun.

Then regular food.< /p>
Katie713 423 Posted April 3, 2013 Yes. Liquids for 2 weeks. Soft/purée for 2 weeks. Then regular food. So being 3 weeks out is a bit early for the introduction of solid Protein. Even if you can tolerate it, it's not a good choice. Give it a couple of weeks, and then proceed. Make sure you chew everything really well.
sharonintx 1,275 Posted April 4, 2013 You are not nuts and if you want the burger and can tolerate it then eat it. Obviously you should watch it as far as eating that kind of stuff because you don't want to sabotage yourself with bad habits, but you know that already. Obviously, you should follow Dr's orders. If things are going well for you otherwise as far as food intake - then I hope it was the most delicious burger you ever had:)

My advise is Don what YOUR doctor says and dont use this forum as medical advise 1 sharonintx reacted to this
