Cath1976 4 Posted December 18, 2013 Hi all! I see this thread is from a while ago! But I got sleeved (also by Michael Booth) & was wondering how everyone's sleeve has gone?! dde0adde0addc4d I was sleeved on 24 Sep 2013 by Steph Ulmer and have lost about 15 kilos since I started the pre op diet. I'm pretty happy with this and have not really been doing much exercise so I guess it's ok? Started at 98 kilos and now down to 83 at nearly 3 months post op. How does this sound to everyone else? Would love to hear how everyone's rate of loss is going. Sometimes I feel like I haven't lost enough in that time but then I remember that there is now way I could have done this on my own and have never lost this amount of weight and kept it off............so that keeps me going
LouiseC 1,031 Posted December 18, 2013 I was also sleeved by Stephanie Ulmer (isn't she amazing!) in May 2012. I have lost just shy of 60 kilos and am now less than3 kilos from goal. Life is good :-) 1 Hayz reacted to this

Cath1976 4 Posted December 18, 2013 Yes she was lovely, I've had no issues whatsoever so I think I have been really lucky. What kind of weight did you start out at? Plus the nurses at Lap Auckland where I had my surgery were also amazing. Got treated so well and would recommend them to everyone

I started at 135.5 kgs and I am 174cm. I also have had no issues and her follow up care is fantastic. I have also realise a female bariatric surgeon is a rarity, for me it was a bonus. Hayz 7 Posted December 19, 2013 How's everyone getting on in the lead up to Christmas? Any tips from those who've been through the festive season already on what was helpful? Haha it's so hard with all the chocolates around at the moment! I'm just six months post op and feeling like my old self again, almost 30 kgs down. The measurements are what really amaze me though. I'm over a year out and down 50kgs and at goal (normal BMI) - I'm going to eat whatever I want (within reason) over the festive season but make sure I do some form of exercise every day to make up for it. I'm thinking of doing the 5:2 diet round mid jan to help with maintenance and any regain over the silly season! 1 LouiseC reacted to this

Rayna 4 Posted April 10, 2014 Hi, welcome to the losers bench :-). 10kg in 3 weeks is very good. Everyone loses at different levels depending on starting weight, how much you have to lose to and your body. Go with the flow it say and and as long as you're getting your Protein in, fluids and Vitamins embrace it. It does slow down I time andyou may even plateau, which is normal. Hope this helps a tad bit :-) 1 SleeveNZ reacted to this
Cath1976 4 Posted August 4, 2014 So I'm now 11 months out and have lost a total of 30kgs..........OMG amazing, would never have been able to do that without the sleeve. I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with Hair loss. Mine has thinned out so much and I'm trying to figure out if I should start taking Biotin in conjunction with the normal Vitamins. Any advice would be appreciated :-)
LBtee 2 Posted August 4, 2014 Hi everyone I am new too the room. This is a new start for me I have finish all of the work-up that needs to be done before getting my date. I have had a few set backs which made me fell like I don't want to this anymore. But I kept the mind strong and did not let it defer me from what I want. This past Friday I met with the new doctor that is going to do my sleeve, the doctor I had before didn't do the sleeve he does the bypass so you know I was very upset but none the less I feel good with the new doctor who has been doing this for over some years. All I am waiting for is my date I will keep you guys posted
