Exactly, I agree! If you voluntarily go for an abortion (with a live fetus of course), YOU killed your baby...not God, not nature...YOU. Is it a choice? Legally, yes. But it's the height of selfishness. It's an extremely selfish "choice" to kill your baby for your own "convenience". Someone said that it's sometimes easier on the mother to kill her unborn child rather than give it up for adoption. Again, that's the height of selfishness. Chances are the baby would have liked to live!

Try telling that to my sister who was very unweight, being evicted in a town she knew no one, was trying to be in school, worked in a day care for 5.15 hr but was struggling in every aspect of her life , got dumped and the cold shoulder by the very man that got her pregnant. Physically and mentally she was unable to carry that baby. She chose after weeks AND DAYS Of tears to not continue that pregnancy. She confessed to the family ( the women only) about her shame and upset on not being strong enough physically or mentally and to make sure she was going to be ok. We all love her and supported her on her decision.

(no family member could or would take it either.)

I watched her grieve over her decision for a long time. She knew the emotional ramifications of this, this was not easy. However, 10 years later she has a beautiful little girl, a husband, a stable career as a teacher. If you ask her if she made the right decision i bet she would say yes, for her and that fetus, and i would have to agree with her. That baby would not have been born healthy due to her physical issues.

And not all babies that are adopted go into such great families!! Keep that in mind. There have been quite a few that have died in the homes of their adopted parents.... NOT ALL FAMILIES ARE CREATED EQUAL

I didn't know anyone still used those paper stamp systems. In Texas, you get a debit card. It has your name on it, plus you have to show ID.

Your state could probably save a lot of money if it invested in the latest technology.

We have the card in virginia. They still sell the cards, pay a buck and get a new one. all you have to do is sell the pin number.... and it happens daily.

You have to show an id here... but no one ever asks to see them. it is $ and a product sold, that is all that the stores care about.

Sorry...I don't see the correlation between kids in foster care and legalized abortion. Those women had access to safe, low-cost abortions. They chose not to terminate the pregnancy. What that says to me is that women who are too worthless to take care of the children they CHOSE to bear are also too irresponsible to hike their lazy asses down to the free clinic and have an abortion.

Stores in Texas are more diligent. They can be removed from the list of merchants approved for food stamps if they are caught not checking ID's - especially any purchace over $50 or things like baskets full of T-bone steak. A Kroger manager told me that just last week.

A couple of months ago I had to have my dog put down. She was 13 years old and had a malignant tumor the size of a football in her spleen. I am still grieving. I still feel guilty. I took my old friend Sarah to the vet so he could kill her. I cannot imagine doing the same with my unborn child. Maybe other people recover from the trauma of abortion....I truly hope they do. But I know that I never would. It would eat me alive.

I had Rubella early in my pregnancy with my first biological child, by the way. I was offered a "therapeutic" abortion. Had I accepted, I would have aborted a perfectly fine, absolutely normal baby. There is nothing wrong with my "Rubella baby". He has an IQ of 160.

Like I said before, I would never have an abortion, but don't think I have the right to force my belief upon someone else. However, I do strongly believe that if the father is involved and wants that baby to live, he should have a choice in the matter.

I also strongly believe that if you are having sex, you know that every time you do, protected or unprotected, there is the possibility that it could lead to pregnancy whether you want it to or not. Therefore, if you consider yourself responsible enough to have sex, then you need to also be responsible enough to accept the possible outcome of that encounter, whether it be an std or a child. If you don't want to have a child, then practice abstinence or have a sexual relationship without actually having intercourse. I know, that may sound absurd in this day and age, but again, people need to take responsibilities for their actions.

WOW:omg: that is a little judgemental isnt it? I think that goes back to the discussion in the first 20 pages of this thread.

And although that is Krogers POLICY... iwonder how often it is actually done in a day...... Every job has rules, that doesnt mean they are followed thru with. ANd when there is a will there is a way. I have had families trade the food they bought for drugs. One bought the dealers favorite milk (2 percent) just for him.....

ALso...just as an aside. My sister was on the pill... but was so malnurished that it didnt work for her. She didnt realize how ill she was... until she started puking. I guess it was god sent that she got pregnant so she could get to the doc to diagnose HER issues to get healthy..sans a baby to stress it even more.

I do feel bad for your sister, I really do. But it all comes down to responsibility. The pill is not and never has been 100% effective on even the healthiest of people.

DOnt feel bad! It was the right decision. She was being responsible.. (how many married folks use condoms along with the pill.... dont lie... lets be real here. If you dont have to use them do you??? )

She has a beautiful baby, a stepson, a wonderful husband, a great job and is healthy and right. She finished college and moved back into the area. She is fantastic. I personally think it was one of the best decisions she ever made. She finally thought about herself for a minute and not everyone else.....:welldone2: It was a turning point in her life, a little tough at first, but it led her to wonderful things.

People who don't want babies but are choosing to have sex anyway, shouldn't rely on just the pill whether they are married or not. It seems pretty simple to me.

:noidea:

Whatever, sex is not just for baby making.... and if you think it is you are REALLY Missing out!

What quality of life was the dog having if she had such a monsterous tumor? Obviously you did the right thing as I did when my 7 year old dog Corri had stomach cancer. She couldn't eat, drink, or lay down, because then she couldn't get up. Her lungs were filling w/fluid and she was basically drowning. The vet himself could have soaked me out of alot of cash (which I would have definitley paid) for some "miracle cure", but he didn't. He was straight with me that she is just suffering. I felt I was the one being selfish because I was the one wanting to try "one more thing" to make her well, for me. I was going thru one of the lowest points in my life at the time and my life was sucking big time! That dog was all I had. Having her put down was the humane thing to do. I guess that's why they have living wills for humans! I also understand that you still grieve for her. I came across Corri's collar in the closet the other day and it had a few strands of her fur on it...Talk about memories coming back!:think

That's just it, you had a choice and made it. There's NOTHING wrong with that.

Really, no kidding?? Wow, I had no idea.....................:rolleyes

Carelessness can result in baby making, whether or not you were only in it for the good time. Let's just hope that at least the sex was good, so it was worth having to kill a baby for, right??

That is a little personally nasty isnt it.? I could lash back in a million directions at your back woods thinking but I am more mature.

And even non careless sex can make unwanted babies. Take sex ed and get a grip

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
