icca1982 0 Posted April 2, 2013 I'm being sleeved this Thursday and I want to attend my friend's nursing school graduation in four weeks. Do you think it will be safe for me to fly then?
johnlatte 1,232 Posted April 2, 2013 I flew from NC to NM two weeks after surgery, just couldn't lift my bag into the overhead, but other than that it was fine. My Dr. signed off on it. Four weeks you should be good to go.
TexasMiss 314 Posted April 2, 2013 I don't know why not. I flew from Texas to Mexico and back for my surgery. I'm 4 weeks out now and feel great and incisions are healed. If I can fly 7 hrs back with fresh incisions then you should do great at 4 weeks!
icca1982 0 Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks so much! It would suck so bad if I couldn't be there. I appreciate your help.
hilary1220 1 Posted April 2, 2013 Well I don't fly. It's too scary. But 4 weeks after my surgery, I will be going on a motorcycle ride with my husband from the Pocono Mountains to Laconia New Hampshire. I hope I can handle that.
iegal 460 Posted April 2, 2013 Sure, I traveled for work a week out from surgery. Flight was across country and as previously mentioned no I couln't lift my own bag. Oh and I asked for a wheel chair since I was still weak. Strong in front of my customer but once I hit the airport I asked for help. No shame in it. Good luck! debs1954 6 Posted April 3, 2013 Thanks for the info, family (hubby's siblings, mom and dad) vacation to a cabin in Minnesota is scheduled 5 weeks after my surgery. I've been so worried but you have made me feel better. Just have to figure out the food, I haven't told them about my surgery plans
