Random pictures, just because

Meaning to bring in a CD of work today, I accidentally grabbed a backup CD of pictures. So instead of having something to work on, I have lots of things to look at.

1. So I was enjoying the weather on the deck this summer, and noticed a pretty white flower on my patio tomatoes. I didn't think Tomato plants had white flowers, so I went for a closer look and instead of a flower, found a caterpillar covered with wasp eggs.

2. Every odd year a little Kansas town named Lindsborg holds Hylningsfest ("Swedish Honor Festival"), and every year since he moved here in 1997 DH and I go, because it gives him a little taste of his home. Actually, it kind of crams it down his throat, and anyone there from Sweden can tell you - it's WAY more Swedish that Sweden ever is. Anyway, I saw this during the walk from the car to the street where the parade was. Do you think it's cheaper if you get it without the owner?

3. Pulled this out of my fortune cookie. Wtf?

4. If Elvis can be found in a potato, and Donald Duck in a piece of Chex Cereal, can't Jesus be on my cream puff? (A lady in the restaurant overheard us laughing about this, came over, and ended up offering me $100 for it).

5. Just a butterfly.

There, that took a few minutes. Now what to do...

Wow - those are fun!

And yes - I bet they knock down the price if you don't want the owner with the house.

:]

My husband jokingly said Jesus, because we'd just seen an episode of Miami Ink where some lady has a grilled cheese sandwich with the image of (who was it - Mother Theresa? Can't remember) burned into the bread, and was having the sandwiched tattooed on her boob.

I thought it looked like a skull, but I can see Bob Marley. For sure. Maybe a little Dee Snyder. ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
