ooooh excited. I've only tried the chocolate, fuzzy navel, and the vanilla. Are any of the other flavors good? like the strawberry and caribbean cooler?

These fruity flavors sound great for summer, can they be made into iced tea coolers, or can they only be shakes?

I've heard the Cooler tastes like a piña colada- heavier on the coconut than the pineapple. I'm just starting to try out shake flavors since I'm pre-sleeve. I also want to try the sour apple and pink grapefruit flavors- sour apple is supposed to taste like a watered down apple jolly rancher and the grapefruit tastes really close to real grapefruit juice. Yum!

I just ordered a sample pack from BJ's- which flavors do you make with Water and which with milk?

The caribbean cooler does taste like piña colada; it's probably my favorite of the fruity flavors. I have a hard time with artificial grape flavor in most foods, so I'm looking forward to reviews on that one! Overall, I seem to lean toward the Syntrax "sweets" flavors (vanilla creme, double stuffed cookie) rather than the fruits. For some reason, the fruit flavors have a taste that my tastebuds read as very similar to liquid penicillin from my childhood. Urgh. Maybe that will change once I'm post-op, though.

I have made the fruit flavored ones with Water, and I use either water or 1% milk in the double-stuffed cookie and vanilla creme ones. Usually I go with water to save calories since I'm pre-op. Post-op, using milk to raise the Protein level might be better for me; we'll see!

I tried their vanilla bean yesterday - good, tasted a little like melted vanilla ice cream, and it tasted even better when I added Davinci SF root beer Syrup. Root beer float baby! I can see all the possible combos- blueberry pie a mode, strawberry float, purple cow, etc. I think this is my "I'm craving a dessert" shake base. :).

I LOVE EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAID. bow.gif

Also--their chocolate truffle is wonderful with a bit of PB2 powder added to it for extra Protein. Peanut Butter + chocolate = yum!

I've had the grape. It tastes like super sweet grape kool-aid to me. It was too much for me, but I don't love fruity drinks anyway. I think the Crystal Sky was good. It was fruity but light.

im a little sad. I tried the Roadside Lemonade, added about 12 oz of Water and shoke it. it was a frothy stinky mess. I am not sure I can bring myself to try the others. What went wrong, so many love lemonde.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
