I started my post-op Vitamins on March 15th and have thrown up every time I have taken them. I make sure I have food in my belly before I take them and have given myself a good two weeks to adjust but to no avail!!!

Any advice?

I will be calling my doc here shortly to see what he suggests!

-Thanks'

I haven't been throwing up, but my multis haven't been sitting well. I take Wellesse liquid Calcium with D, and also their liquid sublingual B-12. I was taking the opurity multis, but they are just too big and acidic for me. I bought Flintstone Complete chewables and took 2 of them to come close to the Opurity stats. I am going to call my dietician to see what else I can do. My doc's office has said absolutely no gummies - I have a feeling it would be easier though. I know Wellesse makes a liquid multi, but I can't find it around here.

I take the chewable Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin with the Vit D and B12. They were just making me queasy but last Friday I actually threw up. Since then I gave been breaking then in halves and quarters and only taking in more once the nausea subsides. Can you break your Vitamin dosage up to see if that changes things?

I went off the suggested Vitamins and onto gummies' date=' and viola! No problems. That was pretty early on, too.[/quote']

gummies have no Iron...probably what was. Careful though, I know there was another thread about this and I had said I was told to never eat those again. Lots of responses saying no problems so I bugged my Dr and he said he has had an instance of a blockage at the entrance of the stomach. I know it's just one...and seems weird like, did they swallow it whole? I will probably try them again when I'm on regular food but definitely not too soon.

Update*** Doc had me go off of the Vitamins for a while and start up again with non-chewable. Seems as though the chewables and their fast absorption rate where too much for my new stomach to handle. Doctor recommended finding small pill form Vitamins or cutting large pills in half... gummies were also OK'd if chewed well before swallowing! Hit 199 on Monday and feeling great! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
