Dynamo~A Body Bugg is a device that you wear that keeps track of the calories that you burn in a day. You also input the calories that you take in, this way you know how many calories you have to burn to lose! there is a thread here on the Body Bug, it sounds very cool!

Thanks Gurly, 249$ at 24 hour fitness...DARN, I missed it!!! I will keep my eye out for a sale! You're getting yours on Thursday? Tomorrow?...LUCKY!!! Let me know what you think?

~first fill on Thursday too! What a GREAT day!

missmonazz~CONGRATS on your date!!!

Dee- wow just one more day!! I bet you are so excited!! I wasn't nervous before surgery so I did not think anything special on the way in. If you find yourself getting nervous just picture yourself as you want to be, stong, healthy and happy:peace: What time is your surgery?

Hi Everyone -

Here to report another good day. OMG two in a row. I have to say that I feel better about myself, stronger, more possible that I will attain my goals. Thanks for the support.

I love that Body Bugg idea, Mal, let me know when you get a line on the cheapest one. Have you tried ebay? It is a very cool idea.

Dee - almost there. Hugs to you sweetie.

I am still wondering about my fill level. Since I have eaten under control these last two days, I haven't PBed, except for the egg I made yesterday, just didn't work in the morning. I can eat Kashi Cereal and drink coffee however, so it can work for me. I can drink Water better when I am relaxed, not on the EFX machine.

I think I will cancel tomorrow's appt, if anyone needs one. It is at 10:45.

I hope that RR works for everyone on December 13th.??????

Hugs,

Michelle

I'll be there in spirit!

Hey, has anyone got a letter from Dr. K regarding the medical necessity of the band? For taxes I mean...all we need is a letter that says we needed the band...I've contacted Marilyn about this in the past and she hasn't gotten back to me. Maybe I'll just hound her? It would be nice to add this to my medical deductions! Would be nice for all of us! :-)

I've lost another 3 lbs. since I got home from the cruise! I'm feeling good about it. I'm also forcing myself to wear the smaller jeans instead of my VERY large comfy jeans...I just need to get rid of them so I'm not tempted. I figure if I wear tight jeans then I will make better food choices so they'll fit better (I write this as I'm eating a coconut pattie - candy dipped in chocolate - that we brought back from the cruise)...salad tonight to make up for it!

I'm in a much better mood today! Sun is up a little, but it's overcast and stil grey outside! Bummer!

Oh, hey, good news...a friend of mine (who I wanted to come get banded with me) is thinking of getting the band done...her parents have offered to pay for it. Apparently, she's a little influenced by my meager progress....

I'm going to advertise for Dr. K and then maybe I'll come with her for the surgery and then we can get together? That'll be fun!

Tied2 - I, too, was over-prepared for the surgery, but better to be prepared for everything! Good for you! I'd say hit the store and get some yogurt, some thin Soup (broth, tomato...stuff with no chunks). Dr. K let me progress as I felt, I was on liq. for a day then on to yogurt and such for a couple of days...I was eating regular food within a week, but I chewed like I had never chewed before...don't worry, you'll be so worried about messing things up that you'll eat carefully for a while! I woke up from the surgery not feeling ANY pain...I was cold and tired. I went back to sleep and woke up covered in warm blankets and feeling pretty good...I even got right up and walked to the bathroom! Putting on my clothes wasn't so bad either. I opted to have a dose of pain meds before I left the surgery center - not because I was in pain, but I wanted it to stay that way. I probably used 1/4 of the liq. vicodin that Dr. K prescribed and I didn't really need the Gas X...I did a lot of walking (mostly at Target). Recovery was easy and great for me and I wish you the same! Good luck sister!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
