I have 80 boobs....just kidding. Freudian slip. Annual MAMMOGRAM. An anxiety producing experience every year because my mom had breast cancer at a fairly young age when she was premenopausal. That is why I was thinking about mastectomies probably....

Oh crud. Sorry. I wasn't trying to be mean. I understand the anxiety provoking thing . . . I've had to have them since I was thirty due to family history, and every year I hold my breath . . .darn those girls. One of my motivations for getting this weight off once and for all. The link between weight and breast cancer scares me.

AND it is my other neighbor from across the alley that does the mammograms...nothing like waving to the neighbor knowing they have seen your boobies up close and in person.

Plus, the gyne started me on Yaz, and it is making my boobs hurt soooo bad, so the thought of having a mammogram is about as appealing as someone torturing me. (Sorry, TMI! But you already knew about my 80 boobs, so what the heck!)

:laugh: Funny about the neighbor. What I hate is when they have to get up under your armpit. That always hurts the most for me. A wretched procedure, I must say. I'm part of a clinical study where they use a computer to scan all of the films after the radiologist looks at it. I've had to go back for follow up studies every freakin' year. But, better safe than sorry. Hey, can I borrow a couple of your boobs? Hopefully some perky ones?

good morning ladies! wow, what a great little bit of discussion - mastectomies, full diapers, truck stops - OH MY!

my question is - what kinda mobility did you have 48hrs after surgery? i'm having my surgery at 10am on a wednesday, and flying out at 11am on a friday. am i going to be able to navigate through an airport with ease, or is it going to be the most torturous thing i've ever done? i've heard day 3 seems to be the worst post-op, so i'm hoping day 2 isn't that bad! thank goodness i was told to take first class flights back home - it's costing an extra $600 but i think i'll be much more comfortable that way.

Hi Jaime. I didn't have any problem getting through the airport. Just take it slow. Good choice on the first class flights!

As for the discussion, that is just how Mini and I roll!

I flew home the next day and it was fine. The 3rd day was definantly the worst for me also, so I was glad I was home by then.

minidriver, the saggy diaper talk had my LOLing at my desk at work! I have some saggy butt pants myself. My favorite jeans...I still wear them although I have to hitch at them or wear a belt to keep them up. I keep holding out until I can get into my 18/20 jeans, I have at least two pairs. I don't want to have to buy anymore 22s.

Now Jaime, I didn't tell you to take first class! I just suggested that you'd be more comfy in business or first class on the way back home than in coach. I did business class (AirTran doesn't have first class) and was so glad I had the extra room and constant offerings of beverages. You should be a-OK in the airport with your mom to help you, you'll just need to walk slowly and take it easy, so allow plenty of time.

9pdmnm5 asked about the Realize band; I believe Dr. K only places Inamed bands. If he does Realize too, it's a new one on me.

mdargen, just have the liquid pain meds out for security. Hopefully you won't have any problems. The packet(s) everyone refers to are the emailed stuff you get for your phone consults with Dr. K and Paula. Starting your pre-op diet early can only help.

munchkin, I was on Femcon Fe (chewable BC) for a couple of months and had the worst boob pain ever. I've been on BC pills before and I know that can happen, but this was unbearable. I switched to the NuvaRing and I like it. No worries about taking a pill every freaking day, and my insurance pays more on it anyway.

I mentioned before that a local gym has a cheap basic rate? It's only $15 a month, no contract. I am still tossing it around in my head...very self-conscious at the idea of working out in front of others, even in the women's only area. So, I don't know. I was also thinking about going to our local indoor pool, they do Water aerobics (AquaFit) two nights a week for $4 a class. But will I be the youngest one there? No offense to anyone! :D I need some low/no impact cardio because of my planar fasciitis.

Only down 1/2 a pound from last Tues (I am in a 12-wk challenge ending this month that weighs in Tues). I blame eating out over the weekend for Beau's b-day, plus eating...sigh...turtle pie! And not enough exercise. I looked back at my exercise log and saw that...guess what...the weeks I exercised more were the weeks I lost more. Duh! :frown:

Haha, as far as my husband's wallet is concerned, you told me to go First Class, because I'd be so uncomfortable in Coach that it would make me nauseous. :D :frown:

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
