My weigh in this morning I was down a pound to 220. I thought it would be more but I'll take it. My goal was 10 lbs but I don't think I'll get that far. I'll be happy with anything less than I started!

Quick note to DenverGirl: Caffeine is OK. I don't recall anything said about gum but I have sworn it off just because I know some people have had issues with it. Other no-nos are carbonated beverages and straws. As for the Protein Shakes, Paula said those were the exception to the "no snacking" rule.

I don't drink Protein shakes between meals anymore. I drink them occasionally if I do need something between meals, or even in place of a meal if I am in a hurry. But I am able to meet my protein goals and feel full with solid food alone and I think that's better for me. It's worked so far.

Thanks Greenie =) I got off and on and off and on and off and on. LOL. I even moved the scale around. This last 2 weeks has been so wonky with the ER visit and surgery, I really don't know what to think. I have NEVER lost this quickly, except during the liquid phase right after surgery in January.

I just hope it stays off. lol. I have a feelig it is going to bounce up a bit once I start moving around more.

Monday Morning Weigh In -- 187; down only a pound but I'll take it!

WAY to go missy!!! Good work!

Monday morning weigh-in...256, down 1 pound. :lost1lbs:I was hoping for more. I have been weighing myself everyday (bad) and it has been up and down all week. I need to start exercising. I have been more active but not true exercise.

Took my daughter to college this weekend. I miss her!

Congrats on the loss! Woot!

I weigh myself everyday too, and i don't think it is bad. As long as you realize the body fluctuates up to 3 pounds a day. In the mornings I am always my lightest. At night I am always between 2-4 pounds more than in the AM. If you get stressed because you weigh daily, then it can become a bad thing.

Sorry you are missing your daughter. I am sure she will be missing you as well. I LOVED college. My first year in the dorm was some of the best times of my life!

Monday Morning Weigh In-- I have lost 2.5 pounds. My first week with more than a 1 pound weight loss in awhile, so I am happy. I weighed myself 3 times this morning just to be sure. :wink2:

Way to go missy! Excellent week!! :wink2:

Okay, moving in the right direction . . . I'm at 203.3. I can't believe I've only lost 2 lbs since my fill 2 weeks ago. Dayum. Well, I know it's better than gaining. I just need to be patient. Second fill is not so far away.

Great job! It took me 3 fills to even get any restriction, and I still wish I had just a tad more. Good attitude to have though... as long as you are losing!! Every pound adds up! Good work!

My weigh in this morning I was down a pound to 220. I thought it would be more but I'll take it. My goal was 10 lbs but I don't think I'll get that far. I'll be happy with anything less than I started!

Great job!! Keep up the good work. I agree.... anything less than you started with is a great thing!!

Ador: congrats on breaking the "2" barrier:thumbup:My initial weight: 316.5

Week 1: 313.1 (-3.4)

Week 2: 307.8 (-5.3)

(In the week of July 28-Aug 4, when we started, I had lost 5 pounds...just because? no dieting persay:glare:)

Well, tomorrow morning I will be on a plane headed to Denver. It was horrible getting a place to stay, even when I booked a motel last May. We are staying at some place called the sleep Inn at Denver Tech:confused2: in Englewood about 9 miles from Crown Pointe. PLEASE don't anyone say "Yuck!!" as it is paid for and I can't get my money back from Priceline.

Am anxious as well as eager for this day (Wednesday). I won't have access to a computer until we come back on Thursday, so won't be able to give details until then.

Ador: have to say I was sooooo relieved to see all the responses to you about pain of gall bladder surgery surpassing that of the band.:wink2::lol: I had my gall bladder removed in 1997 and I still remember the pain of trying to just get out of bed!!

Dee: hope you are feeling better; you have been such an optimistic inspiration for me, to hear/feel your heart aching makes me sad. You are a strong, beautiful woman who is loved by many. Come back here soon, okay:blush:

Deboregon, no "Yuck" from me, especially since you had a hard time booking a hotel. Maybe because of the Democratic Convention, even though it doesn't start for another week? I have stayed in many perfectly fine sleep Inns. Honestly, as long as it's clean and comfortable, that's all that really counts. Good luck and I look forward to hearing about your experiences when you get back! :wink2:

Congrats Adorkable!! I was soooo excited when I saw that number too!! I did a little happy dance on the scale!!

My weigh in this week was 245lbs. I'm down 2 lbs from last week!!! woohoo!!! Don't know how that happened. Probably because I got something stuck on Saturday and I've been on soft stuff for the last two days. Man I hate that! I'm so afraid when I do that because of the throwing up part of it. I don't want to damage anything....but then when it's stuck you need relief fast!!!

Anyone else had this happen??? Do you feel sore in your left ribcage afterwards? I think that's the dull pain I'm feeling?? I feel like I pay more attention to every little pain or strange feeling I have in my stomach area now a days...I worry about it too much probably.

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great week!

Bella, I feel your mommy angst about taking your girl to college. Mine started last year, and she did great but i did horrible without her, just miss my little buddy terribly. She's in Spain this week visiting family, will be home 1 night, then back to school. i console myself by the thought that this is a much better problem to have than a nonmotivated child who would rather live in my basement and work at the mall forever - LOL

Green, thanks for explaining about the Protein drinks...it just didn't make sense before. I'm looking for the slimfast low carb to try, haven't found it yet

Adork, congrats on your new low numbers - that is fantastic!

Deb, no worries about your hotel - the Denver Tech Center hotels are designed for business travelers, not luxurious, but you'll be fine.

My friend who was going to take my home after surgery just remembered that date is her wedding anniversary, so she can take me home but not stay overnight. Will I be ok on my own, or should I ask another friend to stay with me?

Good Luck with your surgery Deb! I things will go well and you'll be back home in your own bed before you know it! I have no YUCK for your sleeping arrangements, so I say, it sounds good to me!

You might want to ask another friend to stay with you. I had to stay over night in the hospital because of my Malignant Hyperthermia and I'd say I'm glad I did.

The Slim Fast Low Carb is one of my favorite Protein drinks! I remember during my post op days, I couldn't even drink half of one!

I was amazed!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
