Mini~

Your grandbaby is so adorable. I just love chubby, squeezy babies. Mine were all pretty scrawny!!

Isn't it horrible about restriction?!? I still need to be tighter, but am going at it cautiously. I want my sweet spot back. Like the month that I lost 21 pounds. :-)!! I will probably never do that again!

OPINIONS PLEASE!!!

so I am thinking of re-joining WW tonight. I am thinking if I go, I will set my "goal" 8 pounds from here and then I don't have to technically pay.

What does everyone think???

Well, it certainly does help. I really like WW. I just never keep the weight off! And if you can do it for free, what the heck!

He is definitely chubby and squeezy. He's not quite 3 months and already weighs 14 lbs!!!

My dd who is 51/2 years is 28 pounds!!! Granted she has had some struggles, but I always have to shake my head when an infant will probably pass her up. Good thing she has the height.

Dont you wish dimples, rolls and squeezy parts were so cute on us?!? We would all be ADORABLE!!!

I KNOW!!! His dimply legs look just like mine, but somehow no one thinks mine are adorable. Damn.

My daughter wasn't quite as small as yours, but she weighed 13 lbs at a year. I look at CJ and can't believe that dd was that small at a year! How is the adorable Hannah?

Okey dokey ladies. I just called and made an appointment with the fill doctor here in Salt Lake for Sept. 5th. People LOVE him, so I figured I'd give him a try. Here's the deal though . . . he ONLY does fills under flouroscopy, no exceptions. I know Dr. K. doesn't think it's necessary . . . have any of you had it done? If so, what is it like? Do you think they give a more aggressive fill? Or????

Mini ~ Your typo was great. Wishful thinking? :tongue_smilie: I'm pretty sure I'd look like a walking talking skeleton at 105 (I'm 5'10", medium bone structure). Adorable grandbaby pix!

Brandymom1234 ~ Personally I don't care for WW. I did it three times, could never keep the weight off. I didn't like the point-counting, the platitudes or the shaming after weigh-ins; I just didn't feel supported with it. I went to meetings & did some online; now I see how silly I was to pay to do it online when SparkPeople has better resources and it's free. But that was just me, if you can do it for free and think it will help you, why not?

So today is my sixth-month bandiversary! I really wanted to be halfway to goal, which is 63.5 pounds gone. But that's OK. There are so many victories...today I realized that I'd gone all summer without getting sweat rashes in my fat rolls and inner thighs, like I have for the last couple of years. That's certainly something right there.

Tropicana,

You can be BMI of 35 if you have a comorbidity: depression, joint pain, diabetes, etc. Check his website for details.

Thanks Denver girl!

My BMI is over 35 but under 40. i don't have any comorbidities. I hate to have to lie to him and say I do. plus. wouldn't I have to show proof of medical treatment for one of those comorbidites?

Hi Everyone!

I've been away a long time and outta the loop about the band. I saw Tom today and had an unfill to see if that wouldn't kick start me. He said that I was now technically at the same fill as a year ago. I have just learned to eat around an overly tight band, which is frustrating but predicable. The amazing thing is that I haven't regained what I initially lost. So the band really works, and I've been coasting. I do need to stick with a healthy eating plan to lose more weight, so I am a little frustrated with myself, as I thought I would be "done" with this. Although on the positive, I've kept to a 5 day a week work out program. I look good and have reshaped a lot of me. I still have 50 or so pounds to take off though. I did find that liquid Protein Drinks help, and the Protein Bars are too tempting. I do feel ready to go at it again. I guess that is my way of dealing with weight loss - push and hold and the dream of slow and steady doesn't seem to be my reality.

Anyone else out there with similar stuff?

Michelle

Munch - Don't feel bad about your question about what a walker would do or how it looks. It is what you see the elderly using when they walk after surgery. They have 4 legs that are on the ground all the time so it gives you much more stability than crutches. They are light weight so you would pick it up and set it down with every step. It's slow going but it would also keep your dogs from knocking you down. But I still think you would need to have some help for a while. Maybe some friends could take turns coming by to feed the dogs and checking on you as they come and go from work or other errands. I teach in a PT assistant program in Oklahoma and LOVE LOVE LOVE my work both in the profession and teaching it. Let your foot pain direct your decision about surgery and advice from your doctor - don't base any decision on my input!

Mini= you asked about my fill. I still have restriction but I had him fill more than he felt was good. My first fill didn't last long and I can't run back to Denver to get a little at a time. I went 3 weeks and didn't lose anything and fought hunger all the time. So far I have lost weight since the fill (4 lbs) and haven't felt hunger until time to eat. I can't go back to Denver until November regardless of the effectiveness of this fill so I hope this is at the right level for the long haul.

DynamoMini - welcome back. It sounds like you have come up with a great plan to get your weight loss back on track. It really made me think about how careful we need to be with fill levels both too much and too little.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
