Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Recommended Posts

Hi, All! Don't beat me up...it must be 3 weeks since I've posted. I've tried to at least read and keep up, but I have to admit...its been about a week since I've even been able to read. :scared2: Sorry!

I tried to PM Dee...but I haven't heard back. I need to know something about tomorrow's BBQ, since I'm not from the Denver area. Is Chatfield Reservoir off of Colfax and Lincoln up there? I map quested it and that is what came up. Just hoping its right. Let me know, guys, k? Am I going to be able to meet any of you tomorrow? Still not sure if my Hubby can come...silly work of his. My boys will be with me though.

I bought new jeans for tomorrow..heehee! Am I silly or what? Mine were so big...I went down two sizes more...now I'm in a 14. Not small by any means....but wholly crap! (I started this journey in a 28!) It's not in the plus size section and I was soooo lost! I don't know how to shop on that side of the store.

Have a great night all....see some of you tomorow?:cursing::biggrin2:

Hey Anita!!!!

GOOD FOR YOU!!!! 14's??? YAY!!!! I remember when I got mine, it was a whole new world on that side of the store! That is so awesome.

I don't know where exactly Chatfield is either...all I know is that it is FAR from here. I will ask my DH when he gets home, hopefully he will know and I will let you know.

Cant wait to see you tomorrow!!!

Hey, Brandy! Thanks...it was soo weird shopping on "that" side (not all of it I like!)

So you don't know where it is either?

I just heard from my Dee...so maybe she can enlighten both of us. Silly that I would wait until the night before to find out. (Procrastinators of the world..Unite! sooner or later. heehee)

The main entrance to Chatfield State Park is located one mile south of C-470 on Wadsworth. Make a left into the park.

Chaps? As in cheek chillers? Like Pauly Shore wore???

Yup Chaps Baby!

Cheek Chillers? I've never heard that before, but it sure sounds tasty! AND what a visual I just got!

So....is that off Colfax and Lincoln like my map Quest said??? :cursing:

No, it's not even close to Colfax! I don't think. Take I-25 to C-470 West and then to Wadsworth. You'll see the exit.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
