Welcome Tiny and Cara!! You will love it here!

I am going in for fill #3 at 2:00 today, and am really hoping for some good restriction. I did have something scary happen yesterday, I have been having a headache for a week now. I went to the chiro. (never been) and he adjusted me. As soon as he was done, I knew something was up. I RAN to the bathroom and threw up. Heaving and all. I couldn't stop it. Do you think the band is OK? I will die if something goes wrong with it!!! I will ask today as well...

Also, what form or receipt do I need to ask for for my taxes? That was something else that I need to get today, but not sure what I ask for.

I am praying for you girls on the untimely deaths. It is such an ugly thing! With my son going into HS next year, it really, truly scares me.

brandy - I just asked for verification for the surgery. That it was a medical necessity and not cosmetic. He listed my co-morbid obesity issues, which will support the IRS medical need thing. I also took some IRA out to pay and it didn't have a penalty if the surgery was a medical necessity. Who knows, I had an audit last year. You probably have lots of medical related expenses because of your daughter. My medical deduction was almost half of my income. Boy, that tells it like it is. Between acupuncture, surgery, therapy - I didn't even take off health club membership or personal training, as the IRS is fussy about that. Good luck. I just emailed my return this morning. About the chiro reaction, I wonder if he pinched a neck nerve or something, to have a reaction to that seems extreme. I don't think he could have hurt your band, while focused on your neck, but I am not a medical person. Tied? What do you think?

Well, hope all is going great for you newbies and newbies to be. It is a wonderful roller coaster ride - never perfect, sometimes jolting, but always toward the goal of better health.

SCARY!!! Please let us know what Dr. K says about that.

I just asked for a reciept

Thanks for the prayers. I just can't believe this happened AGAIN, it has only been 2 months. In December, my son lost a friend the same way...found a gun in the home and shot himself. This is just horrific, my heartaches for the families and the friends that are left behind to sort things out...it has been tough!

Hi all,

Today, I had my third fill with Dr. K's new PA, Tom. It went smoothly and he's a nice guy. Natalie is looking very good... I had not seen her since my 2nd fill in November and I can see that she is definitely working her band successfully! Marilyn and Mary were as sweet as usual!

I found it interesting that Tom said that bands normally lose (through osmosis) a little Fluid in between fills (not punctures or anything... just leaking through the membrane material I guess... he likened it to a mylar balloon losing helium over time)... anyhow, I got 0.7 cc's this time. With the natural leakage, I really have no clue how much is in my band anymore, but I am just gonna keeping adding the new amounts to the old figure until we remove it all and recalibrate the entire amount.

I did the 3rd fill because my weight has stalled for almost a month now. I must confess, it's because I was able to eat more and I was really enjoying the "break" from being good -- I taking advantage of my loose band -- but I decided it was time to get back on the "bandwagon" and go in for a fill. So now, back to behaving... and smaller portions. Good-bye 4 slices of pizza (smaller pizza) in one setting. :tongue2:

I've been lurking and reading posts... and I am happy to see the newer people coming on board and have been glad to read of the newly banded people's good results and recoveries too. Also, I was saddened to hear of the loss of loved people and the grief that others have recently experienced.

Life throws us all kinds of curve balls, some good, some bad... but even our losses are good in a way, because they remind us how lucky we were to have had those people in our lives even if not as long as we wanted... our grief is proof of how well they touched our hearts and our souls and how much they meant to us. I see grief as a way of honoring them and their memories and also of keeping them alive within us... even when it hurts and we want them back with us and it feels unbearable.

Hey Mal,

I hope I get good restriction too... I need it... I am a bulk eater, so I tend to like to eat as much as I can. Which is why I chose the band... Also, I am hoping we got the right amount. I know from last time, being too filled (tight) is no fun. I'd rather be a little loose than too tight. :tongue2:

The babies are good. My new son just celebrated his first birthday on Valentine's Day! His big sister is really loving him too!

Beautifully said, Tina.

BTW, you're son is a cutie patootie for sure. I could just squeeze those sweet cheeks!

Mal, I hope you're doing ok. You've had some hard things come your way lately.

Love to all,

Karen

I am back!! I really liked Tom alot, he explained alot to me and was very friendly and patient. He spent almost 40 minutes with me! I am up to 5.4 now, and am feeling it. I hope that I am not to tight.

He said not to worry about the whole throw up thing. I am in far enough that I should be fine. I do have another appt. tomorrow with the chiro. again, so I am really going to watch and see what is going on.

Mal~ Your so sweet, my heart breaks for you. My sons friend was recently injured pretty bad, and I about lost it. I am praying and rooting for you and your son. It always makes me wonder why these kids think life is so hard, that it is just not worth it. Especially over a boy. Absolutely heart breaking.

Tina - your son is gorgeous, and what a wonderful life he'll have with you. Both my sons are adopted and we couldn't be any closer than if we were blood. I do believe in destiny, and the stings of the universe pulling us together. Smiling on your happiness!

Brandy - let us know about the chiro. It is good that you don't have to worry about throwing up, it isn't pleasant; but not hurting the band is so important. Good for you.

Happy day all, I am off to the gym for a 45 minute workout.

Hugs,

Michelle

Tina, your words were so sweet! Thank you. I do feel so lucky to have been part of Sandra's life. I loved watching her become a wonderful nurse and Mother. I couldn't attend the funeral today and I am very sad about that. She touched my life in so many ways. I feel blessed to have had her in my life. I hope I can help her children in some way find comfort. I am going to get a big journal for all of her friends to write their memories of her in -- then we will give it to her children. My other friend who attended the Rosary last night said it was packed with family and friends. So many people love her. I think we can all work together to help her children remember the sweetness of their Mom.

Your son is adorable!

Love,

dee~

Dee -- Sandra was lucky to have you for a friend. I'm sure she is smiling down on you and is appreciative of the efforts your making for her children. The journal is a wonderful idea. You've probably got stories about their mom that no one else knows and that they will treasure in the years to come! Staying in touch with the kids through their high school, college, wedding, grandchildren years will give them a much needed connection to their mom. You're a good egg, Miss Dee, I hope you know that. We need more Dees in the world.

Thanks Brandy~

My son is going through the "anger" stage. We had a long talk last night, I hope he heard some of the things I tried to tell him. He just lost another friend in Dec and he is still dealing with that terrible news.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
