Mal-I'm with Woofay...I almost peed my pants when I read that post about your running down the hall with your pants around your ankles! But then when Anita added the basset hound to the mix....LOL!!

I always have to search and rescue my Basset before bed, he is my snuggle bear! He hates that I suffocate him with love, so he won't come if I call him, I actually have to find him and carry him in my room, I know...how sad! He tries to hide in my son's room, but I find him every time...how pathetic of me...I just LOVE dogs, I would love to have more. I was thinking about a career change to Doggie Daycare...of course I would have to be incharge of all the snuggles!!

I sadly did not get my puppy, and now I am mad at the humane society. My best friend and I went there last week to get him. He wasn't back in the "general population" of adoptable dogs. We asked a girl at the desk if he was in the isolation room being treated for something...she had not clue, took no ititiative to even check, just told me he was adoped out. Well, he was there today, and I got soooo excited when I saw him. Then I found out that he had been there the whole time, even last week when we were there, in isolation as we suspected, and now he has been adopted out to some people from Wisconsin. :D So I was really bummed, because if it hadn't been for that dimwit at the desk last week I could have paid for him and waited for him to be ready to be taken home. He was hysterical-typical Jack Russell, LITERALLY bouncing off the walls. I thought he was going to give himself a head injury! And of course he liked me, which made it all that much worse. He was adorable-all white except for tan on his ears, tail, and a little tan ring around his eye. And yes, I did look at the puppy thread. So cute. On the other end of the spectrum, they had a HUGE Turner & Hooch mastiff there. He was great. He had an adoption pending or I would have taken him. I would definantly be getting divorced if I come home with a mastiff!

That really stinks! The dog was there??? and the idiot wouldn't take the time to check! ugh! There is no room for people like that in Dog world! The Mastif sounds awesome!

One of these days I will post my motivation jeans pics....I got a virus on my computer and I need to reload all my camera software. I have tons of pics to download from a coworkers wedding too. Maybe next week on my day off!

Hope you guys all had a great time at RR tonight! Wish I could have been there to meet you all in person!

You all need to kick me in the butt...I have been fighting with my husband and subsequently eating horrible. Not as horribly as in the past, but still not good. Give me a swift kick in the pants ladies

No kicking! you get hugs and support!:)((((hugs))))

Emotional eating, we all do it! Sorry to hear your hubby is stressing you. Just come here and vent, we will listen. or go for a walk, you will feel better. I know that I have great workouts when I am pissed. Ipod on and hit the elpitical...troubles are gone and after I feel much better! Take a look at those inspiration pants and head out the door for a walk! I am sending you positive vibes! Now go and have a GREAT day!

Hey everyone,

Great pic from last night, sorry I couldn't make it. Maybe next time. Sounds like you all had a great time.

LA- How is the pre-op diet going, next week is the big day right?

Sunshine- Hope you are feeling better. I didn't have anything like that but I know I had more pain then I thought I was going to have. It does get better each day. I know for me walking helped.

Hello There!

Thank you so much, to all who welcomed me to the RR lapband group last night! It was so great to meet everyone and to start learning about you and your journeys! You all are definitely an inspiration!

Dee - we will be sending you positive thoughts and prayers as you head in for your surgery!

I look forward to future meetings and getting to know you all better!

John - thanks for inviting me

Here is a bit about me and my journey!

I had my lapband installed on 9.13.2007 with Dr. Snyder at Rose Medical Center. I was a self pay person, and wish I had learned about Dr. K., during my shopping phase! So far, in my journey I have lost 40 pounds and (this number always makes me smile) 31.25 INCHES! (yes, I am exercising a bunch!) I want it to be faster, but am trying to be patient, and will be glad if at the end I don't have the 'extra skin issue!

I am 42, single and live in Highlands Ranch. I work for First Data as a Director of Strategic Analysis Projects (Usually, IT stuff). I have worked there for closing in on 4 years and love it! I have three neices I love to spoil! I love to travel for fun and have been lucky to see some pretty cool places on this 3rd rock from the sun, many more to go! For fun, I enjoy volunteering and belong to a group called Metro Volunteers. I recently started the First Data Foundation (a 501©3 non profit) and we get to do many fun volunteer activites! I also love live music and in particular local favorites: Blues Goddess: Hazel Miller (http://www.hazelmiller.com) and Big Head Todd & The Monsters (http://www.bigheadtodd.com)

Anyhoo, nice to meet you all, I will hope to learn a bunch through this board!

Cheers!

Lydia

shhh, don't tell a soul, but I figured out the secret for looking 'okay' in these Red Robin pictures -- you have to stand as far away from the camera as possible.... like Kansas. BUT since Kansas isn't possible, I am satisfied with the back of the group.

thanks Lovely Mal for posting the pic!!!! You're the best!

I should I should!

One time when I was working at Littleton's NICU. They wanted to take pics of the nurses to put them on the wall. I hated the thought of my ugly face being on a public wall in the hospital with my name attached! What a way to make people go elsewhere for their care! ANYWAY, they had this photographer come to take the pics. When I got in the room, I stood where everyone else did and then I said, "you might want to back up a little" She hadn't looked in her camera yet and she said, "no! not at all" then she looked in her camera and she couldn't back up far enough to get me in the viewfinder. Yikes! I laughed at the time and then cried later!

The same thing happened when I had to get my badge pic in ABQ at the hospital the camera was mounted on this desk and they had to get the screw driver to unmount the camera to take my picture -- so that it was more than just my nose!

Lydia likes the music group Big Head Todd... how about --

"Big Head Dee" -- my first major in college was "music performance" then my parents got wind of it and made me change! Party pooopers! I could have been, "Big Head Dee" performing nightly at the Grizzly Rose!

See ya Girl!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
