Recommended Posts

Sunnysea,

I don't shop at the Cherry Creek Mall, I hear it is nice, mostly high end stores?? We have a new mall here (close to the Parker Hospital), but it is all outdoor and with the weather thats coming...Southlands Mall, it is just one exit north, then a right and you are there in a couple minutes! Check it out online. There is just about any store and lots of resteraunts. Also Park Meadows Mall, I like that mall too!

A question for Colorado banders who live near the Denver area, is the Cherry Creek Shopping Mall safe at night in that area? Any recomendations on where to shop????? I hope the weather is better by Monday, I had this vision of me getting some rays by the pool!?!? Am I dreaming or can you never tell what it will be like from day to day.:D Sunnysea

The Cherry Creek Mall is very high end and is VERY safe all the time. They have security roaming around at all hours. What kind of shopping are you looking to do??

As far as the sun... wish I was the bearer of better news. We are supposed to get a foot of snow in the metro area tomorrow and another storm is coming through on Sunday. I am soooo freakin' sick of snow!!

Hi All!

I felt the need to chime in! It feels like old times out there.. VABandster, Marjon, Drews Lou, Skye... my buds! AND we have SO MANY new friends!!! This is way cool. I can't wait until I can talk you all into a Dr. K "reunion" of sorts. You know we all have to meet in person someday!

Sheila! A reunion would rock!! I would LOVE to meet all of you guys!

Thanks guys..... For all your info on the Cherry Creek Mall, they have a Easy Spirit Store there and I need a pair of shoes for work, we had a store in WI but it is gone now. I know that I could order them on the internet, I just wanted to try them on. I hate buying ugly black sneakers for work but they are comfortable, maybe I should be asking if there is a Outlet Mall in the area, seeing I won't be resting in the sun! ................ Terry R, I was banded on Feb 28th so this fill is 6 weeks out for me and I am very ready!.................Woofay+Tator Bug everything will be fine, good luck to you on Friday, Dr. K. knows his way around Lapastropic (sp?) Surgery................Mal+Spot, Welcome to the Kirshenbaum Banders!...............And Dynamo+LapDancer your day is almost here:clap2: I have to get ready for work, talk to you later, Sunnysea

Ok...so I may be going back out to Dr. K for my next fill. I love him but the travel is kind of a pain in the butt.....I've been trying to find a local fill Doc. but they all want at least $500 Just to see them, not to mention an additional $2-300 on top of that for the fills!! That to me is just INSANE!??? For that price i can fly to CO several times over and get my $15 fills!! This is so frustrating......So for anyone else traveling to CO for their surgery, I'd like to hear what your plans are for Follow up fills!

Kirsten, did you find that Dr. Brinkley also has a program fee now too? That would be bad news.

Kirsten- You have probably already tried them, but have you tried the fillcenterusa. They weren't able to help me, but they were able to tell me of some docs that were being added to their network that weren't listed on the website.

Hi skyeblu. I think fillcenterusa is a good option. Last time I checked the closest one was in New Jersey about 3 hours away. But that could still be a good option for us here in DC. It might be worth the trip considering the local prices. Thanks for reminding.

Mark....no, I haven't heard back from Dr. Brinkley....that is the last one I'm waiting to hear back on.

I looked at fillcentersusa, but like mark said, the closest one was really far away! Although that is a good idea to call them and see if they know of any drs in the DC area that might be able to help! Thanks for the suggestions guy!!! As always, you're the best! :)

Thanks DynamoMini! I'm up in Parker tonight and it hasn't snowed since I got here about 3 hours ago, but I guess it's getting ready to. We'll see how much there is by tomorrow at 1. It's only about 1/2 mile up the road to the surgical center from here, so hopefully it won't matter how bad it is. We brought the 4x4! Hee hee!

My hubby and I went out for my "last supper" HA! Applebee's salad....mmmmmm. I will cherish that salad...

Hey Woofay!

I will look for you tomorrow! Glad to hear that there is no snow down there yet. We have been watching the skies up here and no sign but we will check early in the am to see if we need to start out earlier. I am not a morning person at all so this will be my last posting before being banded. Yippee! You are in my prayers as well is Dynamo, Lapdancer and all those whose surgery is coming up next week!

Hugs ya'll!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
