New Whey Liquid Protein 42g

Recommended Posts

Has anyone used these long term? My Nut suggested them for only the first 2-3 days post op. she said they were not a good nutritional value long term. I couldn't stomach them that first week. Now after over 2 months post op I can tolerate them if I pour it in a glass and chug it down quickly. even still they make me nauseous, but 42 grams of Protein is hard to beat. Any thoughts? I'm thinking of ordering the variety pack from Amazon.< /p>

Protein shots aren't good, according to my NUT anyway.

perhaps you're feeling nauseous because you're chugging them down? drinking too fast, maybe?

Well I'd say if you don't really like them, then don't buy them... They look kinda gross ! Lol

Plus the body is said to only be able to metabolize about 30 grams at once anyway...

Actinase [Patent Pending Blend Of Enzymatically Hydrolyzed (Predigested) Collagenic Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate, Casein Protein Isolate.

Yeah, the "blend" of protein isn't going to supplement your needs like many want it to. Plus the amino breakdown of a liquid Protein sitting on a shelf is going to wreak havoc on the structure of the Proteins. It's a waste of money. I guess if it's all you can do to get one of these in, it'd be better than nothing (to some people, but in all honesty it's a junk protein you're going to crap out later). You can put these in the same category as the "ultra mega fat burner pills" they sell at wal mart.

But hey, if you like drinking pig skin and cow bones for the Gelatin make up, more power to ya!

How do u guys get the little body wt ticker to show up on here?

hi Sherrie!

To add a ticker: click your username at the top right and the menu will pop up. Go to "My Tickers". If you haven't already created one, create one. You can choose what it looks like and what it's tracking "actual weight, BMI, body fat, or even countdown to a specific date, if you want) Once it's done, there will be an option to "Add to my signature" and it will automatically add to the bottom of your signature. You can create multiple tickers. You decide which ones you want in the signature.

If you want to move it to a different part of your signature (like mine, I didn't want it at the bottom), from settings go to My Profile, click "Edit Profile" and on the left you'll see 'Signature'. Click that and you can edit the signature. Your ticker is coded in brackets that start 'sharedmedia' so you can just cut/paste that where ever you want it to show in your signature.

You can then update the ticker whenever you need to by going back into "My Tickers", click "Edit Ticker" and click "4. Properties" and change the value of your current weight. Save that and the ticker will automatically update in your signature.

It may sound like a lot of steps, but really, once you create it and add it to your signature, it's just a matter up updating the properties to show your progress.

Hope that helps! :)

I use them, only to supplement some Protein. I hbe used them for years. If I drank enough shakes and ate enough meat to reach my protien goals I would ingest 2000 calories a day. Don't slam it. Sip it over an hour and make sure they are cold. Nut's don't want us drinking them so we don't really on them solely. 1 a day isn't bad.

They are not a Protein your body can assimilate in the way it needs to for healthy weight loss. You might as well chew on your dog's nails and call that a protein shot....it's a total waste and you are kidding yourself if you add it into your protein goals for the day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
