Jethica27 3 Posted April 1, 2013 My Dr. calls for 3 weeks of liquids too. First week is Clear Liquids and thin Protein shakes. Second and third week is full liquids. Really could only add strained creamed Soups and those had to be thin enough to go through a strainer easily. Was sleeved on the 6th and only started soft foods on Thursday. It's been great. The last week of liquids was hard because I would come in here and read what people were eating already and had surgery after me. But....It was worth the wait and I have had no adverse reactions to foods yet. It feels like my tummy is ready for it and not making it eat something its not ready for. So I am glad I waited. It's hard but totally worth it! Hang in there, it's coming soon! Thanks for the advise! It's good to know I'm not the only one! It's not easy tho! I wish my doc would at least approve full liquids. I did splurge on cream of chicken strained and had no problems but when I told the nurse about it she wasn't happy. Said broth only! Grr lol
alexis051806 0 Posted April 1, 2013 Hello' date=' I was sleeved march 18th. So far I have not had any problems. No nausea or vomiting. The only thing I'm really struggling with is the diet. I'm so sick of Protein shakes. My doctor started me on my preop diet 2 months before surgery with a requirement to loose 25 lbs before surgery. He also says I have to be on clear liquids only for the first 21 days. This is torture. I'm reading so many posts about people having full liquids and pureeds by week 2. I'm allowed 2 Protein Shakes a day chicken or beef broth and Jello or Popsicles. I can drink most beverages that are Decaf, sugar free and non carbonated. I can ONLY have these things until day 22. I on day 13. I just want something other then liquid. I can't wait till the 7th when I can have real food again! Has anyone else heard of a doctor being this strict? I've only lost 10 since surgery too <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> physically I'm doing great! I honestly feel back to normal and sometimes have to remind myself that I just had surgery and to be careful! I'm really hoping things get better and start moving along very soon![/quote'] Let me just say I am plum miserable with the diet. I feel so empty and that my body tells me I need food. I want like eggs or oatmeal, something solid! No one understands how hard it is to see people chowing down on solid foods... The smell...the torture. I have been so depressed today. I actually cried most of the day regretting the surgery while my family indulged in Easter dinner boiled crawfish, BBQ, cakes, pies, etc. gosh I need some serious motivation! SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted April 1, 2013 I just posted my before and during picture to my profile here for anyone who is interested... The pic difference represents 59 pounds lost from when I first booked my surgery date. For the month of March I've lost 21 pounds. 7 pounds during the two weeks preop and 14 since my surgery on March 13th. I'm THRILLED with my March loss even though I know that there are some who lose much more.. but I've been on 800 calories a day since the beginning of December so I didn't expect super dramatic results! I'm pretty sure I'm entering a stall now. My weight loss pattern historically always includes 2-3 week stalls followed by big losses so I'll just have to ride it out! 1 AmandaRaeLeo reacted to this
missmeow 156 Posted April 1, 2013 Ive been expecting the same thing. My litmus test is 6 months from now, stalls won't matter in the long run. I still want that guac!!!

I really have to watch myself from just the old chew and swallow way of eating. Can't wait to get to the raw veggie/salad thing![/quote'] I had surgery on 3/11 and have stalled for a week now! Very frustrating.

JolieBug 82 Posted April 1, 2013 OW. chicken salad does NOT agree with my sleeve. Cold sweats, nausea, loud complaining from my tiny tummy, and pain. I may just make myself sick to get it the heck out of there.
ecnancy9 0 Posted April 1, 2013 I was sleeved on March 26th and feeling really good. Last night I slept through the night with my sleep apnea machine. I had been waking up several times a night. Today I walked to a mall close by and shopped and walked the mall. I bought clothes for the future me a cute pair of shorts and fitted tee. It has been hard to get down the Protein Shakes and greek yogurt, but I got down 1 oz.
sittingpretty64 7 Posted April 1, 2013 Hi i'm Fromm Chas.,SC. I was sleeved on 3/27 and boy is this a new way of life. i'm off fora month from my job and boy do I need it. I think the worst part for me is the pain associated with eating and drinking. The passion once it his the actual sleeve is awful. This actual made me think of a contraction, I started thinking is it five seconds yet? Today was hard for me, I went and had the drain removed, tried oatmeal, yogurt applesauce and failed miserably today. I just got tired of the hurt. And no Water yet, am I crazy? Just remembered to drink, I think the runs kinda got me too. Getting ready to drink sp_k strawberry and kiwi w/protein. boy the losers bench is HARD. I really don't want my family members to know what I am doing, anyone feel the same way? I just want to surprise them when I see them. Others please rant on.
