Are you feeling comfortable now ? I feel better and want to start doing more but my family say I need to rest more

I am feeling pretty good, trying to rest but wanting to do more. Today I got nauseous and little dizzy. So I am making sure I get my fluids.

Hey everyone! :)

I'm from Alabama.

Was sleeved on March 18th in Lagrange, GA. First couple of nights was rough. Dealt with a lot of gas pain and back pain which made it so uncomfortable to sleep. Stayed in the hospital for three days/two nights. First 24 hours, only could have ice chips. Have lost 19 lbs since the surgery. Moving around better and better each day. Been difficult to get my Protein as I am still trying to learn & adjust to getting in all of my liquid/protein requirements. It's something I'm learning each day. Start pureed/blended food tomorrow. Been mostly sticking to the diet. Mostly on baby food. My mom's idea, but I do get my nutrients! Can't wait to have cottage cheese and tuna! :) Soooo looking forward to that. :) My doctor had me walking hours after my surgery, and it would increase day by day. Now I'm doing at least a 15 minute rep of walking just around my house at a steady pace three times a day.. 3 to 4 times in the week... but gradually everyday. I have only had maybe two instances of nausea/throwing up, but nothing too major. My incisions are healing well, and I rarely have any stomach pain now. BEST decision of my life! :D

I have been having Decaf and the last couple days having half cafe. Will try a cup of regular tomorrow but this has been rough. Not gonna lie. So lucky though that his been my only problem. Would do this again in a New York minute!

No regrets! :) :)

Try drinking a cup of ginger tea every night. It helps with the "flow" of things and isn't as harsh as coffee! Although I will say I believe my coffee helps. I'm also adding sugar free Creamer and a scoop of whey Protein to my coffee. Still tastes great!

Hiiii

My surgery was March 19

i am doing much better everyday.

Haven't gone back to work yet

Dying of boredom and happy i have no appetite or else i'd be in the fridge every 5 minutes.

I am 20 lbs down and I want to weight myself everyday but i am trying to just do it every Tuesday since my surgery date was on a Tuesday.

I am on Puree and it is frustrating and yucky so i'm sticking to Soups. I honestly thought it would be a breeze but its more of a challenge.

I can not wait to start exercising. I made a list of goals and NSV and rewards to help make time pass. Overall I'm just trying to be patient.

Hang in there girl...your doing it

Hello, I was sleeved march 18th. So far I have not had any problems. No nausea or vomiting. The only thing I'm really struggling with is the diet. I'm so sick of Protein Shakes. My doctor started me on my preop diet 2 months before surgery with a requirement to loose 25 lbs before surgery. He also says I have to be on Clear Liquids only for the first 21 days. This is torture. I'm reading so many posts about people having full liquids and pureeds by week 2. I'm allowed 2 Protein shakes a day chicken or beef broth and Jello or Popsicles. I can drink most beverages that are Decaf, sugar free and non carbonated. I can ONLY have these things until day 22. I on day 13. I just want something other then liquid. I can't wait till the 7th when I can have real food again! Has anyone else heard of a doctor being this strict? I've only lost 10 since surgery too :( physically I'm doing great! I honestly feel back to normal and sometimes have to remind myself that I just had surgery and to be careful! I'm really hoping things get better and start moving along very soon!

My Dr. calls for 3 weeks of liquids too. First week is clear liquids and thin Protein shakes. Second and third week is full liquids. Really could only add strained creamed Soups and those had to be thin enough to go through a strainer easily. Was sleeved on the 6th and only started soft foods on Thursday. It's been great. The last week of liquids was hard because I would come in here and read what people were eating already and had surgery after me. But....It was worth the wait and I have had no adverse reactions to foods yet. It feels like my tummy is ready for it and not making it eat something its not ready for. So I am glad I waited.

It's hard but totally worth it! Hang in there, it's coming soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
