Thanks all! Just checking. It definitely would not be a staple in my diet, but I was just curious. I might even not be in the mood for it by the time it's dinner....

Do you guys just eat the hot dog by its self or do you use something else instead of a bun ?

I eat hot dogs fairly frequently. I usually just eat the hot dog cut up and dip it in mustard. But I have also used Joseph's brand Pita as a bun for them. Also a Flatout flatbread would work you would probably only need like 1/3 of 1 to work so the numbers wouldn't be that bad.

I keep forgetting your stomach is reduced greatly. If I had to eat hot dogs by them self it would take a whole pack to fill me up lol

I eat Applegates organic all beef no filler dogs.. Dipped in mustard. They're good for you, taste good, but don't taste near as good as the bad for you wieners I really love. You know the ones that are filled with animal guts , dropped on the floor products, rodent parts and probably loaded with cancer causing chemicals..and soooo yummy!

I had a lean hotdog the other day, I think it was turkey. I didn't really like it....had it with half the bun. Probably would have enjoyed a "bad for you" dog much better ;)

Everything in moderation. I guess. lol If we all cared about what we ate no one would be using Crystal Light or Mio type products either. Just a bunch of chemicals. I watched a special on chicken nuggets one time and that was more gross than a hot dog. I would love to get to the point that everything I eat is all natural and or organic, but just not there yet. A chili dog sounds pretty good right now. B)

I'm not scared easily! I remember my Nana would tell me about the gross crap in Oreo Cookies..

I used to say "Nana I don't care if they had rat guts in them they taste good" yep enough artificial flavoring and I'll eat anything! :P

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
