Hello my friends. It's been a while I'm following this great forum though I didn't have the courage to show up until yesterday. I'm so touched by all the kindness and support of the members, the generosity of all of u is so inspiring: taking the time to replying and pushing forward and advising...that's a lot to which I 'm so grateful... I'm scheduled to April 3rd. Scared. Hesitating. Dreaming. I'll rely on u to keep me down to earth. Thank u for being here. U're my big circle of friends.

Ps: I hope my English isn't awkward as I think it is lol

Your English is good. Welcome. Don't be scared. Just word of advice after surgery ans soon as they give you the OKAY to walk around... WALK WALK WALK all around the hospital halls. BELIEVE ME you will feel good once you start walking. Maybe 10 -15 minutes every other hour while your awake. When your discharged go to a mall or if its warm out walk for about 30-45... of course start slowly like 20 minutes and then increase it. It will help with your recuperation including the Gas. Good Luck and this is what we are ALL here for. SUPPORT. I find myslef in this site like 70% of my day lol.

Hello Proudgrammy. Well, I'm from Lebanon, a little beautiful country facing the mediterrannean sea. It's already springtime here. The hospital where I'll get operated has already appointed a nutritionnist and my surgeon seems to be one of the best in the country. He explained it all to me. I can't believe I'm getting sleeved so soon. I mean, it's been like less than a month since I started the procedure and Wednesday is day-D! I am scared but extremely excited to find back the real ME! Reading the positive inputs accross this forum is a true help. Thanks a lot for taking the time. Kisses.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
