Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?

  1. 1. Knowing what you know now about weight loss surgery, would you do it again if you had the chance to make your decision again?

    • Yes, without a doubt! The surgery has been everything I’d hoped for.

    • Yes, probably. The journey hasn’t been easy, but I’m losing weight and feel that this was my best option.

    • Yes, but I would have chosen a different type of weight loss surgery.

    • No. I’ve had complications and my health has suffered and/or I haven’t been hitting my weight loss goals.

    • I haven’t had the surgery yet, but I’m looking at the results of this poll carefully to help me make my decision!

Sorry' date=' I have not responded to this post yet as it went off my radar. I am at goal weight and have been since February. Every month up to February, I would do the usual stall 1/2 the month, lose 1/2 the month. Losses tended to be good so the weight loss / stall pattern worked out in the end. Month 6 (january for me) is pretty common time for weight loss to slow a lot.

I would say really kick your exercise program into high gear. Better, check out my transformation challenge thread. I am sure that would help you achieve your goals sanely. At around month 5, I started running a lot. By the time I made it to goal during month 7, I was running 10 k and 5 k every week with a HIIT running day. This intense amount of running helped me lose the last 50-55 lbs down to 175 (started at 360).

now I am turning my focus more to strength rather then endurance cardio. I am not looking for body builder strength, but rather boxer strength. That is where this transformation program of 12 weeks is going to help me by focusing on high intensity short duration training sessions and cross fit HIIT sessions. Feel free to join in on the fun with others and we shall see what we can do in 12 weeks.[/quote']

Do you have transformation photos ? I would love to see them.

I believe the shots will be available in June sometime. At this time, I do not know if they can be reposted here and will ask about that. If not, I will definitely provide the online link.

Yes, I would definitely have the surgery again! It's been easier than I ever imagined. My husband is a diabetic and is overweight. He was like you're crazy but was still supportive. Now he is in the process of being approved for surgery.

Didn't you meet with a nutritionist before surgery?

I was told my post-op diet would consist mostly of Protein and that I would have to take daily Vitamins -- I was not surprised! Honestly taking vitamins and eating protein are 2 very minor things to gain my health and life back!!

This has been really easy for me. I was well educated about what to expect after the surgery and I don't find it hard to take my Vitamin and getting in my Protein. Now Water is a different story. I do have to work at getting my water in. It is a struggle at first but it does get easier. The sleeve is just a tool, nothing else. I couldn't lose the weight before and keep it off, now today I'm down to my lowest of 140.8. Yahoooooooooooooo! Love my sleeve and for me, it's easy........

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
