ChristieK 70 Posted March 29, 2013 My surgery was delayed 5 hours yesterday. Made thru just fine. Woke up in recovery in so much pain. It's from the gas, but I have not been able to pass any of it. Iv tried walking but I get dizzy and weak very quickly. They are keeping me another night in the hospital because I can not keep anything down. Not even small sips of Water. Within 5-10 mins I'm throwing it up. Mostly dry heaves, but it's painful and it sucks!!! I'm just so ready to go home Sleeve Date: March 28, 2013 First Goal 50lbs: July 13, 2013

I was vomiting up everything I ate and dry heaving the whole time I was in the hospital. I was discharged at 3 pm the day after surgery, made it home and vomited/dry heaved that night. Next morning I was fine. They told me my nausea was from the anesthesia and the morphine in my pain pump. I only used my pain pump twice and realized it was contributing to my vomiting. gotselma 2 Posted March 29, 2013 I didn't have any vomiting.I had gas real bad but I got up like the nurse said and I walked until I couldn't walk any more. I guess I'm blessed so much that I didn't even have a lot of pain. They gave me pain medicine to take when I got home but I have not taken not one drop of it. I guess that was a waste of money to buy it. I walk every day for 30 minutes. 1 MrsG reacted to this

Symptoms subsided a few hours later after my nausea was controlled. Had difficulty sipping liquids when I got home but things got better by post OP day 3. Hope you feel better soon. 1 kimikat3 reacted to this
ChristieK 70 Posted March 30, 2013 Y'all are so amazingly smart!!! Today is "day 3" and I feel sooooo much better. Gas has finally started to pass. I made them stop all pain meds to see if that was attributing to my nausea and sure thing, I have not been nauseous in about 5 hours. And I'm not in pain, so the meds are not necessary. Woo hoo. Gotta do my upper GI again this morning and I plan on going home. Ready does not even begin to describe it. matthewaroth 0 Posted March 30, 2013 I had my surgery on the 28th woke up fine today a lot of gas. But you have to move a fight threw it. It hurts like hell but.. I have no choice. I am able eat Jello 3 ounces. Very slowly. Key thing is slow. And move. The gas pain will go away.
