I'm 18 months out and yes this does happen to me.....I also realize that I'm not able to tell the difference of my hunger and my thrist so I'm working on getting in more fluids and only eating 3 meals a day with a small snack in between meals if I need too....I tend to eat less when I'm focusing on fluids instead...If I'm emotional, then I tend to eat also......If there's those darn Mini Cadbury eggs, I can eat a ton of them. but I'm not hungry when I am bad with the Mini Eggs... :( So working on keeping my sugar content down...Today Just found out that Salami has sugar in it, so it's now out of my diet........

I am only 10 weeks out and this has happen to me a few times. There is a huge difference in what I can eat on certain days and what I can not. For example, the other day me and my family went to a Persian restaurant. I got my entree and ate about 1oz of beef, a spoon full of basmati rice and I was full. So full that I thought I was going to get the slimies. This is very unusual because I do eat a lot of lean Protein every day.

So yesterday, throughout the day, I was able to eat 4oz of salmon, 4oz top sirloin, 3oz of lamb, 1/2cup brown rice and some green veggies. I felt good after every meal and finished every meal within 20mins.

I was stuffed for a few hours the day I almost got the slimies from 1oz of meat... go figure

I never get those days where I feel like I cannot eat anything. Wish I did sometimes. However, I always feel like I am unable to eat more then 4 oz Protein and 1-2 ounce of veggie. Do you want to share some of those food restrictions days with me where you feel full after 2 bites ? Please? Pretty please??

I feel the same way today. Most days I can barely eat two ounces of Protein, and 1/4 cup of veggies. Today I had an egg for Breakfast. Two prunes as a snack. 3 strawberries (we went to pick our own). Then ate two ounces of grilled chicken with about 8 bites of baby greens. dinner was about 3 ounces of salmon plus more baby greens. I'm full, but so nervous that I are two much.

That sounds like a pretty healthy day of eating. Not too much at all, but tat depends on how much you can handle in terms of post op eating. It would be good if we could all eat like that and be satisfied.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
