My sleeve is tempermental. The other night at dinner I ate 2 hard shell tacos comfortably, after not eating all day because I was extremely busy. But yesterday 4 bites of my mini wheats filled me up and so did the 3 bites of chicken at dinner. It's like it changes everyday, the amount I can eat. I'm 8 months out so I don't know if it's normal. Any opinions?

I'm the same way and it seems like stress makes it worse...it also seems like it happens to a good many people on here and while I'm not a doctor, I would guess that it is a normal thing for us sleevers.

One day, I'll eat two egg whites with a little shredded cheese and the next day, I'm full after less than half of one! It varies so greatly, it's crazy. I love my sleeve though, because before surgery...I could've eaten 4 whole eggs with cheese and bacon. :-/

I think it depends on what you're eating and how quickly you're eating it. If your food has a lot of Fiber or Protein content to it, you're going to fill up quicker and stay fuller vs. eating empty calories.

I agree with Heather. Some mornings I can eat an egg and some cottage cheese, other mornings I can only fit the egg. I'm boring I eat a scrambled egg everyday at the same time for Breakfast. lunch and dinner vary much the same way. Sometimes I can eat a little and be done and sometimes I eat and worry my sleeve has stretched! Lol!

It's nice to know I'm not the only one, it's so weird though. This morning half of a banana filled me up, I do agree though I love my sleeve. Before it I could easily eat 6 tacos and down a whole 32oz drink with it.

Same here! It also depends on the time of day as well for me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
