donatelife36 27 Posted March 29, 2013 Does anyone have any advise for trapped gas? It is killing me!!!
SpaceDust 585 Posted March 29, 2013 I know when I had abdominal surgery a few years ago, the only real answer was get up and get moving - I did a LOT of walking to get rid of the gas. Some people swear by GasX strips, so I will probably be trying those when I have my surgery in a few months. It may help to ease the pain a little to use a heating pad, too, but mostly its walk, walk, walk.
notime 340 Posted March 29, 2013 My understanding is that there are two types of gas with this surgery. One is the trapped gas left over in your chest from what the doctor introduces to your body during surgery. That gas is not in the digestive system and gas medicines do not help it. The other is the normal type of gas in the digestive system and gas remedies such as Gas X can help it. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
kakaw 33 Posted March 29, 2013 Walk as much as you can, sorry no quick fixes but that will make it go sooner than later
