Cooking supper, so I don't have time for personals. I have been checking out the board which I haven't had time to post for a while and got carried away with the time.

Anyway, I don't think a spider bit me, I can't see the bite anyway. I am thinking either a catcus or rose got me, or a bee (because I am alergic to them) although I don't see a bite anywhere. It hurts but I really think it is not a spider bite. I am always scared to death of the spiders when I am working in the beds, I have seen some pretty nasty pictures of those brown recluse bites.

Beanie I am glad your fever broke, but I am glad you are keeping your appointment too!

Catch you all later!

coffee in Denton: There is a Starbucks on University Drive. Downtown Denton there is Jupiter House...then of course, Cracker Barrel on I 35/University (380). Any of the Texas people liking any of these suggestions or have any others?

Beanie, how was your dr. appt? I apologize for laughing at your description of your fever breaking at the UPS!! It was just funny.

Probably your great writing skill!

I'm operating at a disadvantage here, because only 1 little post, Betty's, is on this page, and I can't remember everything else I read.

I know Christmas is one week from today...let the wrapping begin!

wrapping??? We exchanged gifts with half the family last night. I am glad that's over, it was the in-laws half (LOL) It was better this year, but still not great. I used to work for my Mother-in-law and that ended badly, she has a psycho business partner, and I quit sue to mental abuse from the partner. They are also roommates and if the roommate isn't invited my MIL refuses to attend, she the psycho was here yesterday. Sh tried to be pleasant and I kept my distance, they have questions about how I ran the place and who I ordered stuff from, when I was there they didn't want to learn anything, they wanted me to do it all. Now I am gone (for almost 18 months now) they want to pick my brain. I change the subject when they bring it up. They were only here a few hours and had to leave to go back to the business, it can't run without them. LOL My brother in law and sister in law were here longer, they have kids Abi's age and a few years older. Their kids trashed my house, the oldest sharpened a pencil and dropped the shavings into my carpet and left it there, the daughter that is Abi's age managed to pull a sheer canopy out of the ceiling and was caught climbing on top of a dresser to get stuff out of the top of Abi's closet. If this is how they behave here I can't imagine how they are at home. Yesterday was stressful and a very long day, today was bad too, but at least it was bad with just my family, not the in-laws too. My washer is still broke, the repair guy had to order the parts, they arrived today, he will be back wed. He too made a mess, that I had to clean. I complained to sears about him, they are sending an estimator out to repair the washer that he gouged 4 huge places in and they are going to paint my laundry room because he left a HUGE greasy hand print on my wall that I can't get out of the paint. I hate Sears, and will never buy from them again. I paid $1800 for a front load washer and dryer in June of this year, the washer is broken and they make a huge mess, promise to repair it on Tuesday and then say it will be at least wed before they can get here. I cleared the calender for tomorrow and put several things off until wed, now they are coming between 9 and 5 on wed. AGH! I have baked absolutely nothing, there will only be the 3 of us for dinner and my mom and step dad will be here late for dessert on Christmas day. I plan on staying in my Pj's for the day.

Abi had her Christmas program at school tonight, it was fun but really crowded. When I convert the video to DVD sometime this week I will post a link to it, on my youtube.com account. Hope everyone has a great night, I am going to have a rum and coke, not diet, regular coke, and extra rum...nighty night. ~Mandy

Hi everyone...yeap I planned the weeks activities but, with help. I run the activities committee and have about 8 other helpers....but...of course I have to make sure it all runs smoothly. I know I know I can't say no lol. Today was the bake-off so I was running around trying to find judges that didn't bake lol. I baked last night at the last minute.....banana mini chip bars...they were pretty good for my first time making them and I won 2nd place lol. No prize but, hey it was fun. Lots of goodies there. Had to order 30 pizzas for tomorrow and get the chocolate squared away for Wed and Ice cream for Thursday. Good thing I'm retaining Fluid so my band is tight this week lol TOM should be making an appearance soon but, it's decided to wait a while I guess. I've over due probably because of stress. (Noooo I'm not pregnant or as my DH would say.....it's someone elses lol)

Today I got the last few gifts I needed. Most were things my Mom needed picked up, because now she and Dad have this stupid respiratory infection. I will wrap the last of it probably tomorrow night. I have made some candy---it really hasn't been as big of a deal as I expected. I have tasted, but not eaten any. I made peanut patties, peanut brittle, fudge, and divinity. I do not care for peanut patties or divinity, so they are not a big deal, and the peanut brittle I can take or leave. The fudge I love!!! I made a deal with myself about eating it...and have done fine!!

I am baking pies this week sometime, and I have a couple of loaves of bread I need to bake. I have roasted 35 pounds of peanuts!!! But I have been working on them for about 3 weeks. I have taken it nice & slow, but it is eventually getting done!

Darcy-glad the little one is feeling better. I used to have slumber parties all the time. I was the single Mom, so my house was easy...never a Dad needing to go to work the next day!!!

I know I worry about Kim (my friend with the breast lump), and her waiting to hear from the Dr. I think the worst part for her will be knowing she has 3 daughters...and what her diagnosis will mean to them. I know it was one of the first thoughts that went through my head when I was diagnosed...that it was one helluva legacy to leave to my DD. I was pretty sure feeling, that mine was going to be cancerous---I just felt it. The waiting was hard, the drive in was horrid, we knew why he wanted us in his office. But hearing the words ended up being very anti-climatic. Was Was a relief to finally get started doing something about it. I hope to be a good friend if she gets bad news...thanks!

Beannie--what did the doc say? My fever would break the same way, sweat would pour off of me, and my legs felt weak and shaky. I hope the Dr.'s scale is nice to you! Still saying prayers, for you and Dad, and the whole fam damily.

Betty--yeah you need to tell us what fantastic party you all have in your neighborhood for New Years!!! You have the best neighborhood parties!!! Oh yeah and I am jealous of all of you Texans meeting up!!! Hope the hand feels better!

Mandy--the pictures for Cindy are perfect! Your niece and nephew sound like my friends children. It got to where I would do anything to avoid having them at my house!!! I can sympathize with your washing machine problems. Mine are Maytag---and I hate the washer, it just doesn't seem to clean well. When I wash dark clothes, I have residue and lint all over them, after they dry I have to remove it with a washrag. The dryer has already had to have some pulley replaced. Never again!!! Glad you are making Sears take responsibility!

Cindy---wow it is almost over!! I bet your DD is about as excited as you are!!

Sherry--you look wonderful in your picture! I was trying to get down to fit the black pants for the party, and I think I can get into them just fine---but they moved the party and it is going to be very casual! Dammit! It is going to be at a local casino. I hate that. The smoke in the casino, even though the room we have it in is smoke free, it has permeated everywhere, and I am already having lung issues! I wanted to get pretty, and go have a nice evening...but they want casual. They have a live band, a hypnotist, and are giving away a Harley. At least the kids Polar Express party was fun!!!

Dianne--how goes life with the new medication?

Mary---where ya at?

Jules graduated----Job Well Done!!! Enjoy the celebration!!!

Chris passed---Way to GO!!! Wow I think you are already more credible!!!

Patty--do not think you are waiting alone---we are all waiting on pins & needles!!!

Pat--I am getting worried. I saw you once on another thread, and before I could holler you were gone---did we make you mad???

Eileen--vacation? Time away from the hovering boss? Isn't it time for more time off???

Anne--are you off eating all the Cookies? ??

Cassie---now she is off making out with the fiancé`...whatcha wanna bet???

Anyone I missed----come out and see us and say HI!!!

We went yesterday and cut trees for DH's company party. It was fun, lotsa work! Then last night we went and had pictures taken at my friends, we took theirs, they took ours!!! DH is horrible to take to a studio, he does not want anyone else watching him, and he is so stiff. These being friends, they can get him laughing and snap one! They are ok, not real happy, but we aren't pros either!!! Tonight my BIL was in town from Denver, so we all went and had dinner.

It is supposed to snow all night and for the next couple of days. Was spitting rain when we come in, so I imagine when the temp drops it will start piling up. I am going to have to go buy me a coat....mine is huge on me now....and where before, I had one, and seldom needed it, I now find myself in the opposite court, I don’t have one, and am freezing all the time!!!

Ok time to post this! Y'all have a good night, see ya tomorrow!!

Kat

Good Morning,

Its so cool to see you all.

Sherry thats alot of chocolate & pretzels LOL, I love the combo of salt and sweet mmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmm. 2nd place WTG !!!!! Glad Mom is okay and yes that sucks when sibblings act like babies. I have them too.

Kat hope all is okay and you know you have my prayers. Now go buy yourself a nice coat, the sales are great this time of year. I gave my black fur lined coat to my sister b/c I could wrap it around myself twice LOL. So I got myself a faux fur coat that I luv luv luv $50.00 WTF LOL.

Mandy glad your inlaw get together went okay.

Cindy, two more days ??? drooooooooooooool......

Dianne, did I miss something? are ya coming up this week? Hope your feeling well love.

Betty how's the hand? My mom got pricked with a rose thorn back in august and her hand blew up like something from a horror movie, thank God I took her to the hospital b/c she had a piece of the thorn inside her and they found it. That could have traveled in her system and who knows what could have happened. If your not feeling well go see the doc...please.

Darcy how is DD feeling? Ohh cleaning up puke is one of the worst things ever gag. I wanted to be a nurse when I was in my teens and well, I realized that I just don't have the stomach for it (well I had the stomach just not the ability to control it LOL).

Beanie chick, miss you too. We'll get together soon. How are you feeling today?

Chrispy WTG on the test :clap2: I give anyone credit who goes to school or back to school....its not easy thats for sure :girl_hug:

Pat, Patty, Cindy, Anne, Jules, Cassandra, HELLO !!!!!!!

Today I must clean, my house looks like dodo :) Yesterday I took my Mom shopping for christmas and I ran to a few stores by myself which was so nice, haven't done that in a very long time.

Well tummy is growling and I must get up. TTYL

Hi guys,

I am feeling better but the anxiety is still real high and sleeping hasn't been good. Urgh. I hope to catch up on personals soon. Thursday we have a 10 hour ride to NJ so maybe my brain will let me do it then. I am begining to feel like there is a light at the end of this tunnel the tunnel doesn't seem to be quite so long anymore!

Eileen I tried to send you a personal but they told me I was full! So I have to go get rid of stuff in there. Anyway I'll be in Oakland late FRiday afternoon and Saturday morning. Hopefully we can meet up for coffee or just a hug or a meal! I've already told my friends that I was meeting up with you hopefully in the morning.

Gotta run thanks guys your all so great..I feel your love and prayers really I do I am blessed.

Mary: I didn't know that you needed another scope. I'll send up a prayer for you and I'm hoping it is over quickly and don't rush over here with results. Just want you to be OK. HUGS

Hey wanted to thank everyone on all those positive thoughts about my surgery. STILL waiting for final approval. Rene had me laughing like a fool. Her words were.... "marked propensity for evil" I uhhhh, peed my pants! Let me explain, last Christmas my ex-husband was buying stuff on Ebay and using my address, yeah, like whats up with that?? Sooo, I would take the stuff and hide it in my closet. He would ask for it and tell him that we had no deliveries. Since I wasn't very curious about this box and its contents I challenged my lapband friends to guess what was in the Mystery Box. We did this for weeks until I cracked and opened the box to find a...... toy model train. So, if I get an envelope from my medical group I WON'T be waiting to open it like the Mystery box I will be ripping it open and sharing the good news. I am getting very anxious about the whole thing but not as moody as I was this summer. Counting my blessings and trying to keep calm.

I know I have a ton of personals to do, but duty calls and I gotta hit the salt mines. Yesterday I had 20 kids in my office in 3 hours time! Whew!

Hi All.

I am still very much alive and well. The doc said it was a UT infection with the beginnings of a yeast infection thrown in. I guess I should have gone sooner to visit him.

So I took a little Ciprol cocktail last night and some weekly anti yeasty thing and this morning, aside from being a little nauseaus - I am ok. Fever is low or normal (I didn't check) and I am fully functioning. I am sure that by Christmas Eve I will be back to my old normal self.

Of course, after having been sick for the entire month to-date, I have accepted the fact that my poor little Christmas tree will not be decorated this year. I am so not there to see it during the day - and at night it lights up pretty, so I am ok with that.

No news on Dad since yesterday. Thanks for your love and prayers.

Betty - I do hope that your hand is better soon. If you don't see dramatic improvement soon, you should definitely go see a doc. (yeah, I know - it took ME long enough...but you could learn from my bad example. :guess )

Cindy - 2000 cups of coffee at Starbucks? Geez, who are we, the Trumps? Naw, I was thinking someplace where we could schlep around in a booth or at a table and some disgruntled waitress could bring us coffee for a bit and then start giving us dirty looks til we ordered something else. I guess if nobody else can come, you and I can have coffee. I have already told my DH that I have a hot date on New Years Day - so we are all set. Just give me the time and the name of the place and I will find it. I will come across on 380 - so maybe that place would be good. :girl_hug:

Mandy - Oh Honey.... I recall the story of the in-laws from hell from last year. I was so glad I married MY man and not yours! And then the washer fiasco - grrr. I had trouble with Sears when we ordered our Mattress from them. NEVER again. Of course, that's why Sears is on the Decline. I would be surprised to see it survive thru 2007. I hope you enjoyed every calorie of that Rum and Coke. :cocktail: Sounds like you needed it. PJ's are the optimal attire for Christmas, in my opinion. Hugs!

Sherry - Your pictures are great! I still don't know how you manage to find time for all that baking - I think you must be Superwoman. :wow2:

Kat - pictures. Yeah. Trying to get DH to let anybody take his picture these days is a little difficult. My sis keeps trying to snap him all the time - but he hides. He said he would only let her take his picture if she would sing him a song. Suddenly, the camera went away.... I even have a hard time getting a shot of him. He is at maximum density and he hasn't really been out of the house much in the last 6 mos or so - he looks a little like a wino on his bad days... He's just not excited about having pictures at this point. You know that feeling, when none of your clothes fit cause you're too fat and you just don't care anymore? *sigh*. I keep hoping that he will see the advantage of the Band and join me. So far, no dice.

Eileenie - much better, thank you. Hope the whole cleaning thing went well. I am so glad I rarely have to do that... :] Hopefully I will be up north in January.

Dianne - Don't stress about getting caught up, here. That will only add to the anxiety. Just jump in one day when you feel up to it. So glad to hear there is light in the future. Hugs!

Mary - HUGS!!! Try to breathe, Sweetie. The scope will probably tell you SOMETHING - and even if it isn't what you want to hear, at least you will KNOW. Even if the news is bad, knowing is better than wondering. We are all thinking good, strong thoughts for you.

Patty - Thank Goodness you aren't feeling that Sadistic Streak this year! I think we would all expire waiting if you didn't rip that envelope open right away. If you don't hear soon, give them a call, ok? xo.

Well - It's back to the salt mines for me, too. lunch hours are just too darned short... I think they should last for 2... or maybe 3....

:]

Love you guys!

Mandy, perfect picture! Two Turtle Doves....

Today I had two former students, one from 5 years ago, and 1 from 10 years ago...they knew I was leaving and wanted to come say goodbye "one last time." Well, talk about humbled. One told me they hear about me on My Space "all the time." OMG. I don't sign on to that, so I'd rather not know! It's sweet, and this is one heck of an emotional ride today.

Mary...good luck with your scope. Just do it. Don't over think it.

Mandy, sorry about your in-laws. That's just not right.

Eileen, good luck with the house cleaning...right now, that sounds like a relief to me!

Beanie...Cracker Barrel would be the place for us to meet, then...2000 cups of coffee it is!

Okay, more later...it's crazy here one day before Christmas break...and retirement!

Anne---I received my card and letter today---I LOVED your letter!!!

I really loved all the cards from you guys, but Anne's letter--her personality shone through---I felt like I had known her and her family for years, and wanted to tell her thanks for that.

Now Mandy's card, I assured my Mom who was here, before opening it up, it would be Disney---and Mandy did not let me down!!!

We got our pics, back, and they are ok---will try to post one or 2 soon---I just have ZERO luck resizing them, and most of the time, they are too big, and they will not upload---so I may need help...hint hint Sherry!!!

OK need to unpack groceries, jusy got my mail, and found all kinds of cards from you girls, and had to pop in here!!!

Beannie-- I am glad you are getting some meds in---get well!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
