Pixie Dust 526 Posted March 29, 2013 That sounds so awful! I'd be scared to pull on anything! Maybe I didn't hear right but I thought I heard the bariatric nurse say that my doctor uses some sort of glue instead of stitches. Is that possible or did I not hear correctly? I haven't had surgery yet, hoping for this summer.
michelleooo513 245 Posted March 29, 2013 These are internal stitches. The dermabond is used on the outside.. I dunno how it all works ha
BB145 34 Posted March 29, 2013 Sometimes they work themselves out and sometimes they don't. The most important thing is to keep them clean. While I always recommend following doctor's orders, I would advise against peroxide. Normal saline is better. Keep an eye on them as and follow up with your doc as an abscess can be bad news. Good luck!
doreen70 268 Posted March 29, 2013 Yes, one had two tiny holes. My surgeon recommended peroxide, to dry them out. Ask your doctor what he prefers.
