I agree on the Water - MINIMUM 64 oz a day. SIP SIP SIP if it's hard to get it down. I was sleeved 4 days after you, and fortunately for me, drinking Water isn't a problem at all - I can actually drink like a 'normal' person - the liquid just seems to flow through my sleeve. On calories, I average around 900 per day, some days as much as 1100, but usually in the 800-1000 range. I'm only drinking one Protein shake a day now, 1 c of 1% milk mixed with 1 scoop of Syntrax Nectars Protein powder. I don't love them, but they're palatable. I usually get at least 80 - 100 g of Protein total, so I'm about ready to give that up, because I'd really rather eat my protein than drink it.

I had a stall for about a week at 4 weeks out. I gained a pound a day for 4 days, then it took me the rest of the week to lose it back, even though nothing in my eating/drinking had changed. I've lost 31 lbs in the 6 weeks since surgery, so I'm happy with a little over 5 lbs a week.

Don't kill me but..... Girl' date=' 32oz of Water please there's your problem! You need to drink more and at 7 weeks you can! :o[/quote']

Drinking that much Water would have me throwing up all day. I guess i failed to mention thats not all i drink during the day. If its not the water it is usually a diet green tea which i drink every other day.

Water by itself now makes me nauseous and i refuse to sweeten everything up..

Make sense?

And i have no reason to be mad at you.:-)

let us not forget, "all sleeves are not created equal"

Try orange Vitamin water zero or crystal light. They aren't sweet. I also put a lemon in my water to help with the taste. I hate plain water too.

Me + anything remotely acidic=major backpain fueled heartburn! Yikes. But ill double up on my prilosec and zantac and try it.

Before surgery i could drink like a fish. I could easily chug 64 oz before noon.. now i feel deprived especially now i have the third eye when it comes to water make up between brands...

I think a total Fluid intake of 64 oz is good. Also...I keep calories between 600-800 usually getting around 700 a day. This to will pass....keep up the great work.

It's a sorry reality, but Water, for most of us is harder to drink after surgery... At 4 months I'm handling plain water a little better these days.

But I still flavor my water with mio "sweet tea" drops most days..

Yes what is that?!! I love water and now plain water is hard to drink, makes me gag or nauseous. Why?!! Crystal light an Powerade zero have gone done smoothly. In the morning I drink 16oz of hot mint tea unsweetened. It works perfectly.

I read an interesting theory that someone here

(Forgot who) Was told by a doctor that Water has a lot more "surface tension" than other liquids we drink so it's not absorbed as easily as say juice.< /p>

It was explained with an experiment with putting a paper clip on top of water and it floats on the surface tension more than it would on a cup of juice...

I have had a hard time drinking Water post op as well. I started drinking Lemon Propel Zero water. It's not as good for me as water, but its a start. However, now that I have gone back to they gym, I am able to down a 24oz bottle of cold water after my workout. Usually on the drive home I get another 24oz bottle of water down. I'm very thankful to be drinking more water again. Hopefully you will also be able to in time.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
