lillatinmomie 62 Posted March 28, 2013 I agree however the short term affects does not outweigh the long term effects, which is weight loss, gaining your life back, and all the other good things. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
abetterme4.2 268 Posted March 28, 2013 Fortunately, not everyone's experience is the same. Although I was by no means running a marathon, I was ok, no pain meds, left the hospital and went shopping at a mall. Glad to see/read you are doing better. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
FishingNurse 1,211 Posted March 28, 2013 The first few days are brutal-- heck the entire first month is...... But all 100% worth it. I'd do it again in an instant. I'm 20 months post op and have maintained my goal weight for more than a year now! 8 Joe I, ProudGrammy, pottergirl and 5 others reacted to this

enigmachik 403 Posted March 28, 2013 I do it again in a heartbeat. You cannot cannot cannot judge from the first few weeks alone. Barring any complications, once you're healed up you will be very happy that you got sleeved! 1 diannepj1960 reacted to this

Geminidrive 389 Posted March 28, 2013 Hopefully it will get better for you. You have to put everything into perspective, this is a choice we make to be healthier, Thank god we can make that choice, in the bigger scheme of things (unless you have had serious complications from the surgery) this is easy. Imagine the people who are gravely ill who don't have choices, who are in constant pain and struggle every day just to survive. Yes, you are uncomfortable, but thankfully this too will pass. Every day, I thank god that I was able to have this surgery so I can be healthy. 3 ProudGrammy, diannepj1960 and quadmommy reacted to this

kakaw 33 Posted March 28, 2013 Mine wasnt pure hell. I had it done on the 22nd and honestly it was the easiest surgery Ive had and I have had a few. Depends on each person and who their surgeons were as well. I even travelled a long way 3 days after and it wasnt bad at all. 1 ASKSARAH - Sleeve reacted to this
mariamitani 405 Posted March 28, 2013 Congratulations this is the first day of the rest of your life Its very difficult in the beginning but It will get better each day at a time. Stay strong in your thoughts and remember why you did this. Keep getting your fluids and Protein in best you can. It will take time but eventually you will get it all in. If your stomach feels gassy walk its the best and gas x strips.
amytug 996 Posted March 29, 2013 Op, the first few weeks are SO hard! Emotionally and physically. Several times the first couple months I thought I'd never be able I get my required Protein or fluids. How many times I regretted the surgery. Know what though? A friend told me that right around 3 weeks things turn around and they really do!! For me, the purée stage was a big turnaround! Now that I can eat with the family and I'm finally getting more fluids in, I'm a happy camper. I also put on a pair of pants yesterday that used to be tight and they were loose!! Woot! That helps. I really think you'll be like me soon, looking back at your first few days and giggling at yourself. But it is hard whole you're in it. 1 FishingNurse reacted to this
