i had my gall bladder removed in april and while i was under my band was checked and told it is still like new ( i have had my band 6 years) but latley it has had me worried as i have back ache and ache in left sholder and a feeling of fullness in my throat/stomach and just wonder if anyone might know if it could be band related. I have also been told i have ibs due to anixety but the stupid thing is i worry that it is my band and not anything else. i have lost 25kgs and very happy just worry to much hope someone might know if its band related or i am just stressed!

I first had my band done in november of 2000 to start with i had a few problems my body rejected the port and then took 3 more ops to fix but since then i have no trouble what so ever lost weight quite easily over time and have kept if of. I have just moved and had to find a new dr regarding the band who has been very supportive. I have no regrets doing the banding and only have to look a old photos to go wow was that me. I will go and see a gp but since moving havent found one who im comfortable with just my banding dr who is 2hrs away and very busy. thankyou for your imput and will go to a gp and rule out anything else

I'm thinking it probably is not band related. How is your restriction? Are you maintaining or still losing? You may be anxious, but that's not necessarily the cause of your experience. Sometimes our bodies are going through something that isn't entirely explainable. The main thing is how is your health in general? How are your BM's? What is your energy level like? Are you getting adequate Protein and moderate fat intake? It might be that you are developing excess gas which can happen after gallbladder removal, plus sometimes stones stuck in the stoma of the removed organ. Pain can cause anxiety which may lead to the throat "fullness." I feel you should use home remedies to help you through the pain and observe any progression or changes. Look at your overall health.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
