Hey you!

Why are you still sitting out there “thinking” about having Weight Loss Surgery? I know you are sure you should be able to lose the weight on your own! Well, if this were really true you would have done it by now. Some of us have lost it, to only regain it back again, and then we beat ourselves up over doing this. You have a disease, and it is called fat, fluffy, overweight, and obese. We can call it whatever name we want, but it is a disease. If you had any other disease you would go to a Doctor immediately. Well, this is a disease, because we are unable for many reasons to gain control over it. There is NO shame in having weight loss surgery. It is NOT the easy way out! It does require work and effort on your part. However it is the answer for many people.

You are going to kill yourself faster from using your fork putting this food in your mouth all day long. What are you scared about? It is OK to be scared, I was too. We have an addiction for food, and we use food to self-medicate for 100’s of reasons. I know I have been where you are right now. 4 ½ years ago I had weight loss surgery, and I lost 105 pounds and I have kept it off. I urge you to consider taking back your life and putting yourself in control of “YOU” again. There is nothing that feels as good as being healthy, and to eat well.

Please stop and care for yourself enough to change your life. I am always out here to answer all your questions and help you with anything you might want to know. It is OK to ask lots of questions, and you should do that! I was the lady with at least 1,000 questions.

I love this quotes: “"Don't sacrifice your future for a momentary pleasure" Stop and think about this quote for just a few moments.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
