Just when I thought I was making progress

Thanks everyone I would tell them something but seeing as I got in trouble last year for asking a family to turn down the TV while I gave their child therapy and this family has been problematic I just rather not say anything. Normally I let it slide off of me but today it kinda stuck. I'm just gonna do my job and try to get this kid out of therapy as soon as I can so that I never have to see them again. Thanks for all the support. I feel much better.

i agree with what everyone is saying, and I'm also saying that there is an employee's rights issue component here, and saying so in those terms should get you your employer's support. Regardless of if you are shaped like Kate Moss, Dolly Parton, or Adele, NO ONE should be making comments on your body while you are working. You simply should not be subjected to it on the job. Report it to your supervisor if you work for a company and let them handle it. If you are an independent contractor, then a brief, professional (and firm!) statement from you should do the trick. YOUR body is not for THEIR discussion!

and, f them anyways :) congrats on your 30 lbs!!!!

I'm a home health speech therapist and I work with kids. I have lost 30 lbs from pre-op diet to surgery. I was sleeved on 2/19/13. I was feeling pretty good about myself until I did this visit with this family that's loves to reference my weight whenever possible. You know they start talking about somebody and then they say well they aren't as big as you or they are way smaller than you. Really bothered me today bc everyone else can see I lost weight except them. Just feel hurt right now. They don't matter I know but it hurt after I have been working hard to stop this weight. Just needed to vent.

I had a "best friend" like that. I lost 70 lbs on Atkins (I know y'all are groaning lol) and everyone was complimenting me EXCEPT her. She said she "just couldn't see it". Then one day she saw it & all she could say was " taking it off is easy (it was???) but MAINTAINING it is the hard part so BE PREPARED". Honey don't let them get them down. You are not doing this for them, you are doing this for YOU! Don't even waste your time on toxic energy. You just keep on putting out there your good energy and that's what you will attract. And as the mom of 2 kids that need speech, I WISH I had someone like you, esp someone that would come to my house!! Bless you for the work you do with the kids. :). Stay strong & it's ok to vent. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
