STUCK in a RUT between thin & not fat enough

Recommended Posts

I read your topics/posts and I think I can honestly see the problem. Every time you say I'm a low BMI'er it's just like saying.. "Hey, I'm not as fat as everyone here"

And you repeatedly mention it. Not sure who you're point is for, your self or others, but regardless of your low BMI.. You're obese, and obese is obese on this forum?

Maybe tone it down and more support will be right there for you?

Your posts come off as being borderline discrimative, and you seem to want to find a reason to distance yourself from the very people you are asking for support from. But you don't want the "fatties" help - right? Just people that fit into your idea of who you are. So 100 lbs ago you would have overlooked me, but now you woul seek my advice?!

You are overweight, fat, zoftig - call it what you will. you overate, you have issues, you need help.

You are considering the surgery, you want to succeed and you at least get you can't do it alone.

Those are the classifications you are in, your BMI means nothing. It definately does not mean anything to me. You are 9 lbs heavier and have 6-7% more bodyfat, and yet I feel more akin to the heaviest person here than someone who would choose to group them selves based on size.

Really????

Hallelujah! Fat is fat..

And OP, show me where someone here wasn't supporting you because of "YOUR LOW BMI" and they will be addressed and I'll show some sympathy.

I feel a need to add something after my post - what you are doing, depending on several factors that you have by no means surpassed - you are expressing what is considered typical behavior, but behavior no less upsetting. Progress and position are species-specific, but not unsurpassable. It came off as vanity. If it wasn't so be it. I wish you health and success and better communucation with us from here.

Do not leave. We will support you. It is what we do. It is passing it forward.

Namaste.

I believe that everyone here has the right to have this procedure if they so desire. I know that I haven't experienced any one attacking anyone else on here 95%of the time, the rest are people just expressing their own opinions and I take what people say, or I leave it. When I post, I know that it is an open post and everyone is going to respond according to their biases. I know that reading this post hit me as a little passive aggressive.....Just some feedback from my perspective of reading your post....:)

I dont have to prove anything nor do I need your sympathy. If some of you want to come across like you are that is on you.

I have read many of your stories and they are quite inspirational. I wish you all success.

I am sorry but this comment alone has a very condescending tone... Maybe that's why you're not getting the support you are so obviously looking for...

I'm a lightweight as well, my BMI places me into the obese category, but not morbidly obese. However my comorbidities put me in a category where my insurance feels this surgery will help my health. I enjoy listening to all the posts, I don't think we need to try and determine who is the most worthy.

I offer empathy, it is up to each individual to accept it or not.

I think you misunderstand, we do not need you to prove anything - you are done proving yourself, or passing yourself off as anything else. Here we are all learning, changing, developing.

We know you care and we know you hurt and we know how it all feels. It's ok here.

Take a minute and ask your Ego if this is how you want to proceed. I offer my hands down and my heart out "Namaste" - take it, let this forum be an inspiration.

Comparing levels of obesity is stupid that is what I was saying.

I need some help here ... why are you posting about your relatively 'low' BMI, then? What was your expectation?

Here is the part that confuses me and I need some help on ... I am assuming 'low' BMI denotes a BMI lower than your insurance will cover and that is what you are seeking support about? Otherwise, is someone's journey, surgery-wise, different if they are a 33 BMI or a 53 BMI??

Don't we all have similar struggles? If it isn't about the insurance, then what is the motivation to point out the starting BMI? IMO, you were trying to separate yourself out from the 'fatties' by pointing out your low BMI, most likely looking to get the comments, "Oh, you're too skinny for this drastic of a move", although, you most likely aren't conscience of that ...

IDK, when one starts trying to disect the mind, no good can ever come of it.

If you seek support, you will find it.

If you seek community, you will find it.

If you seek confrontation, you will find it.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
