This is the same picture of me and my "puppy" but I cut him out. He's in the dog house.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm blushing something awful. :nervous

Thanks Melissa. My hair is actually shorter than usual. I lost so much that it is really thin. At least I had enough to start with that I didn't have to cut it all off. I truly think that some people's hair doesn't grow long, that we all have some "preferred hair length gene." I definately skipped the "fixing yourself up" training, so I'm glad I live in an area where the natural look is acceptable. I admire people like you who can arrange hair so it looks nice. I just don't have the skill or patience for that.

I have been avoiding this post since I've been sneaking around getting my new port. Unfortunately, I had more restriction with no port (only me, right?) So I have been using the surgery, my liquid fast and the new port as an excuse to get lazy. Time to get back in gear. I have reached the MINUS 70 pound mark. Amazing, but it's hard doing this with no restriction.

Sue -- 93 lbs. since July is awesome! Keep up the good work.

And you are doing fantastic, as usual, Lisa. You just keep on keeping on. You will have restriction before too long now that you have a port.

Okay, I'm in too. I keep weighing myself as if it's gonna change by the second. As of Monday 1/17 I weigh 228.

I got restriction last night and nearly PB'd (really bad, actually.) Ate a hunk of chicken too fast. But then I ate junk food all night after hours. When will the madness stop?

Well, I finally got past the holiday plateau and lost 4 lbs since the last time I had weighed (it had been awhile) and am now down 82 lbs. I was pretty happy about that. Lisa, you got your new port? SWEET! Teresa

Man Teresa... I'm just in awe at how much you have accomplished with your band... you will be hitting that 100 lb loss mark before you know it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
