Got an e-mail from a friend and I found this statement buried in the text. LOL thought it was cute so passing it along On scale day.

"The people who make bathroom scales are pulling the same prank, but in reverse. Do they think I actually "believe" the number I see on that dial? HA! I would never let myself weigh that much! Just who do these people think they're fooling?"

Hi Everyone,

I know I have missed a few weeks... I just get so down when I think about gaining and losing the same 2-4 pounds over and over and over AGAIN!!! I am today, back at 237. My lowest weight since banding. I go for another fill on Wednesday and I really wanted to have at least a few pounds off since I saw the doc 6 weeks ago.

I wish I could get this, but I guess I am just extremely hard headed.

Good luck to all of you. You are doing so well!

Well, been missing here for 2 weeks. Hadn't ridden bike, hurt too bad, and eating bad, soft foods. The pain, unfill, and barium swallow showed all is well now. I was sweatin' that one! Got pretty dependent on this band in just 5 months! So got a .5 fill today. I gained 1.3 in last week while unfilled! Yipes! So back to the old bike! Exercise definitely makes a difference!

I know there was no gain but I can't help to feel sorry for myself. I thought the fill would help me lose steadily for weeks. This stall just brings my hopes down. My husband asks me once in a while how much more I have lost I always say 1/2 pound but those 1/2 pounds are starting to add up. I am thinking about telling him that I do lose the 1/2 pound but I gain it back too. He yells at me if I eat too much and feel sick afterwards. I know he tells me for my own good but sometimes the truth hurts.

Veronica..your husband yelling at you is not good! The more you tell someone not to do something they

are going to do it more. He neds to support you, Support from your spouse is very needed to help your journey to be successful. If my husband yelled at me for eating to much, I can tell u this..It would be the first and LAST time he would ever yell at me for eating too much! You say he yells at you for your own good..Veronica, it s not what you say that hurts..its how you say it that hurts. Your husband can still make his point to you in a very loving caring manner.

You are doing a great job Veronica and do not let your husband or any one else make you think otherwise. 31 lbs is fantastic! What other wieght loss program have you tried that you lost 31 lbs in 7 months without giving up ??? Dont feel sorry for yourself..make the adjustments in your head where you think you could of done things differently and do your best to fix it this week. No one said this was going to be easy! Be proud of yourself Veronica..Im proud of you :)

(((hugs)))

I'm right there with ya Greg... one pound down... BUT... I have been a little piggy this past week and am pretty darn happy that the scale went in the downward direction!

Last week was hugely stressful with my hubby being outsourced and waiting to see if he would be one of the 22 employees that would be hired by the consulting company (7 positions). I am happy to say that he was offered a position! Whew!

I have settled down about the "fast weight loss" desire. This band is with me for the long haul... what's my big freaking hurry? Heck... maybe I'll follow Lisa's lead and start weighing once a month? Nahhhhhh. :)

Hope everybody had a good week... Greg... kudos on another notch down!

Darcy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
